Dire game 'cept the performances of Pogba, Rugani, and Morata vs a high, open defense.
We wore them down physically. In terms of both stamina and aggression.
The starting lineup was poor from Allegri.
Pogba and Pereyra are both attacking CMs. Both of them starting meant the CM was unbalanced, and Pogba couldn't be at his full attacking mindset. Asamoah should've started instead of Pereyra.
Evra should always be paired with Cuadrado in the 352. Otherwise, there's 0 penetration from the flanks/WBs.
Marchisio was still training separately three days ago. It was a poor decision to start him in this game. Allegri has done this many times this season, players suffered from injury relapses many times for that reason this season, and Allegri is yet to learn from them and keeps making the same poor decision over and over again.
Ditto with Barzagli and Chiellini, both of whom just returned to training also. As interesting it was to see Allegri finally willing to try a back-three with no Bonucci, only one of Barzagli and Chiellini should've been risked, not both.
