Not a terribly interesting game.

Neither team were really taking risks and neither team made it difficult for the other to contain them.

Juve - not unreasonably - spent long periods looking like a team playing an alien system. There was never any hint of cohesive team movement. It was all just hoping for Pogba, Cuadrado or Dybala to do something individually and none of them did.

Napoli, for all their big talk before the game, also played negatively. Hamsik played a very conservative game. That made Insigne easier to close down and that meant there was little prospect of good service for Higuain.

Both teams did what they had to do defensively without ever being under a great deal of pressure.

But for all that people will say Napoli were the better team or that Juve didn't deserve to win, Juve created the one chance in the game (Dybala's shot over). Napoli created nothing.

If you don't create any chances in a game, you can generally have few complaints if you lose it.

Not sure if it was NY mayor but I read some silly tweets about how Napoli will beat Juve by some American mayor or something. Thought it was the mayor of NY.

 Oh yeah, that's him. He isn't particularly well-liked, for what it's worth.

:agree:

Juve actually created a few chances. Dybala's bad miss, Cuadrado's shot straight at the keeper early on, Evra blasting over in the box.

We allowed Napoli to have possession just like we did against Roma a couple years ago when all Italy was raving about how amazing their counterattack was too, and neither of these teams could create a chance when forced to build play from the back.

Watched the game in an Edinburgh pub with my beloved son. Third time I watched the game in Embra, third win. Next season, as soon as the fixtures are out, I'll book the plane for Scotland for the weekend we play Nipples.
Ps: after Zaza's goal we got both surrounded by 4 security guards
