and they just reelected gravina

:lion:
Really shows the stagnation. These are the same stadiums - brick for brick - that were in Italia 90. FIGC thinking the same buildings with no changes will be good enough 42 years later.

I don't LIKE what and how much had changed since then and tbh I love the retro feel of Italian stadia but come on its time to catch up a little.

Once few of those stadiums get renovated, ours might not even host any of the games. Each country can select 5 venues. The capacity of 41k is absurdly low for major tournaments. We need at least 10-15k expansion. What a stupid decision to build a small stadium in the first place.

It'll easily host groups games but KOs depends on what other stadiums there are. Some recent tournaments:

Italy and Turkey will have to choose 5 stadiums each. Stadiums in Milan, Rome and Naples will definitely get selected. Our competitions are in Florenze, Artemio Franchi is under renovation and Bari, stadium with much higher capacity but depends if it gets some work done in time. I can easily see our stadium gets left out. Not that I care in particular but I would like Juve to have a bigger venue regardless. 50k should have been a bare minimum for us.

I'd be amazed if Bari's decrepit stadium gets touched at all. I think Milan, Naples, Rome, Naples and Turin is a fair representation of Italy in terms of geography and population centres.

I'd actually forgotten about the 5 each so that is a fair point, does make it less likely. For me it'd be stupid to not include Turin but we'll see.

Fucking FIGC turned down all the offers from big Middle Eastern channels cause they think their league’s worth more. Season kicks off in less than 2 weeks and we still have no clue who’s even showing it.

sad the league seems to fuck this up worldwide every season. unfortunately the epl is flourishing economically with their branding and being anchored by their tv rights. serie a as a product has just faltered for a good while now

If you know how to adjust your satellite TV settings, you can watch them illegally through some broadcasters. Here we watch football live without paying, just by entering a few codes to unlock paid channels.

The sore losers will definitely broadcast it on youtube in mena for free, just like a couple of years ago when no one would meet their demands.

Our stadium was the only stadium given the tick of approval in terms of being ready and appropriate for the Euros. It would definitely be one of the stadiums chosen

But I still think the FIGC and the Italian nation will fuck this up and they’ll give it to Turkey and another country if need be.

Surely the logistics should be taken in to consideration. Now I'm no expert on the area of Bari and I know there are high speed rail links in Italy but realistically does Bari have the necessary transportation within the City to be a host?

I mean compared to a more affluent Turin for example, easy enough to get to the stadium, but a freaking nightmare to get back into the city after an evening game
