Not really thrilled about seeing again a historic italian club getting in the hands of another corporation who’s intentions are not yet very clear but hopefully this one along with all the other similar takeovers of Roma , Fiorentina , Milan etc will at least start to make the league somewhat more relevant in terms of spending power which could in return potentially result in better marketability for Serie A.
I can understand the concern. But it’s certainly better for the club (and the league) if it is operated to be competitive and profitable. That is something sorely lacking in major leagues. It can’t get worse for these clubs. For example, most PE deals focus on rebuilding a company to be profitable and performing. That approach should be welcome for a once great league that clearly needs outside help.
Maybe i would’ve preferred to see some of the most historic teams in Serie A still be owned by italians but i am well aware that in this case it’s just me looking at it in a more ‘romantic’ but rather non productive way… otherwise i fully agree that a large majority of the Serie A clubs without a doubt needed new reliable ownership’s in order to remain relevant and rebuild, with most requiring a level of investment that this days can obviously only come from such foreign investment groups, and if we are to be honest there’s not much to really complain here about as it does ultimately benefit the league as a whole.
