Cassano: 'Inter better than Juventus'

By Football Italia staff

Antonio Cassano has let loose with his caustic opinions on Juventus, Maurizio Sarri, Romelu Lukaku, the Champions League and why “Inter will win the Scudetto.”

FantAntonio has never been one to hold back and following his retirement is becoming a sought-after pundit on Italian television, although he did recently get his certificate to qualify as a director of sport.

“I’ve been saying since the end of August that Inter will win the Scudetto,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“Antonio Conte is a coach who by himself brings you an extra 15-20 points, he’s world class and lights the fire within his players.

“I’ll admit, though, I didn’t think Lukaku would do so well in Serie A straight away. He works for the team and already speaks Italian after two months.

“Lautaro Martinez is a great striker and we’ll be talking about him for at least the next 10 years. As for Sebastiano Esposito, you can see he has that fire inside him and determination to do well. Not everyone can play with such confidence at San Siro aged 17. He’s fortunate to have Conte as a coach, because it’s the best environment to mature.

“I give credit to (Inter director Piero) Ausilio for signing the players who were suited to Conte’s football.”

Another reason why Cassano tips Inter for the Serie A title is his irritation with Sarri and Juventus director of sport Fabio Paratici.

“Sarri did some good things in recent years, but before that he was always in Serie B or C. I consider him nothing more than a normal coach.

“Juve today have an extra 10 points thanks to Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain, both players who they tried desperately to sell over the summer. If the sales had gone through, the Bianconeri wouldn’t be up there with Inter today.

“The trouble with Juve is that they don’t really want to play good football, they just want to win, and I don’t know if Sarri is capable of that.”

After eight consecutive Serie A titles, Juventus are turning their focus back on to the Champions League.

“There are five or six sides in the Champions League who are stronger than Juventus this season, for example Real Madrid and Manchester City,” added Cassano.

“I have major doubts they’re going to be able to do that.”
I agree that Inter became better with Conte and that we have a conflict of playing well vs just do whatever we need to win therefore we are not at our best but it is still talking out of his ass...

“I’ve been saying since the end of August that Inter will win the Scudetto,” he told Sky Sport Italia. - Ok so you are wrong since August..
We will win it in the end but we will make it much tougher for ourselves to win it..

@Alen @JuveJay

it's interesting to me that every team that has challenged juve in for scudetto since 2011 has faded or is fading or self destructing in a way.

2011-2012: milan. they are midtable at best
2012-present : napoli and roma fading into nothing teams

hope it continues with Inter.
They won't. Suning is a mighty big organization.

When Cassano is right. The state of our team these days.
When you're on the same wavelength as Cassano

Who cares what this loser has to say. He has always disrespected Juve since day one.

Serie A team of the decade

Buffon

Lichtsteiner - Bonucci - Chiellini - Sandro

Vidal - Pirlo - Hamsik

Dybala

Higuain - Di Natale

Discuss...
Not bad. You could make a case for Immobile instead of Di Natale, but the others have to be there. Maybe Pjanic deserves a spot too.
On the other hand, I saw this team on the IFTV social feed and it made me want to punch my screen.

Chiellini made the team of the decade (for the world, not just Italy) in many other newspapers. It's a crime against humanity to not include him in the Serie A team.

They used to some cool interviews and stuff, nowadays its become a place for Milan and Inter fanboys to gloat about their team and talk shit about Juve. The Juve fan who runs it, Mike, tries to shit on Juve every opportunity he gets.
Aren't those the same idiots who tried and milk eveything out of the Pogba to Manure rumors, or am i mistaking them for someone else?
