Suning sponsor Modric to Inter?
By Football Italia staff

Inter’s parent company Suning could reportedly help pay Luka Modric’s wages if the midfielder joins from Real Madrid.

The Nerazzurri are trying to sign the Croatian this summer, and the 32-year-old has reportedly told his club that he wants to leave.

According to today’s Corriere dello Sport, the plan would be to bring Modric to Italy for four years, before a move to Jiangsu Suning to close his career.

Both the Beneamata and the Chinese club are owned by Suning Group, and the company could effectively sponsor the midfielder’s move.

The Chinese conglomerate would top up his wages by making Modric the global face of their brand, thereby keeping Inter within Financial Fair Play limits.

That’s a similar approach to that taken by Juventus with the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, as it’s thought much of his €30m per season salary will be earned through sponsorships with FCA, the company controlled by the Agnelli family.

Suning is one of China’s biggest companies, with a revenue of around €18bn in 2016.

VAR replays in Serie A stadiums
By Football Italia staff

The Lega Serie A will allow VAR replays to be shown on stadium screens next season, but only after the referee has taken a decision.

The Italian top flight introduced Video Assistant Referees last season, and while the move was a qualified success, there were some complaints.

One of those is that for fans in the stadium, who don’t have access to the replays the referee sees, there are long delays where spectators don’t know what’s happening.

Today the Lega Serie A has released its stadium rules for the new season, relating to training sessions, the length of grass, goalline technology and more.

Also included is a new VAR provision, which in addition to the old system of “VAR” being displayed on the screens, “any images as transmitted by the television production” can also be shown.

Those replays can be shown “only after the referee has taken the decision”, and only while play is stopped.

Modric the face of their global brand? :shifty:

I guess Suning wants to lose money? Luka, while a great player, is ugly as sin and not marketable at all. Inter doing Inter things though.

Anybody know much about the Eleven Sports coverage in the UK?

They have announced that it will be £5.99 per month but not sure how many games will be shown each week.

Modric to inDa would surpass CR7 to Juve. - Stankovic

CR7 is undoubtly one of the 2 best players in the world but I do feel there is too much euphoria around this deal.
Modric to Inter will be a massive boost of quality and will improve Inter more than CR7 improved us despite CR7 being one of the 2 best in the world
Inter might become a scudetto contender although we are still by far the best in the league..
I can understand what Stankovic wanted to say if he meant what Im saying but his claim as it is - ridiculous!

Do they offer any football game in the leagues or is it some games and not guarantee that every Juve game will be broadcasted there?
Also what is their quality?
and last thing - How much they ask for?

and to combat those confusing long delays, there will be videos on the big screen, but not during those confusing long delays. glorious logic

It's a bad idea not to show the fans, its a bad idea to show the fans. People will never be happy but at least they can't complain that the ref is secretly supporting Juve when the entire world and stadium can see exactly the angles/viewpoints the ref is looking at to determine their decision.

:beppe: raided RM first. Wounds are fresh and Inter tried to take advantage.

We kicked the lion first...Inter takes the brunt of it.
