M’Baye Niang has reportedly turned down an improved Spartak Moscow offer and handed in a medical certificate due to “stress.”

According to Sky Sport Italia, Spartak Moscow bumped up their proposal to €23m for the striker, but he is still refusing to accept the move.

After the Rossoneri effectively dropped him from their competitive games in order to push him towards the exit, Niang took matters into his own hands and will be absent from training for the next 10 days.

The medical certificate handed down by his doctor notes Niang is suffering from “stress.”

It’s believed Niang would prefer to remain in Serie A and reunite with ex-Milan Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic at Torino.

However, the two clubs have not been able to agree terms, as Toro offered only €12m.

 :lol2: What a joke

I hope if a player ever does this here we fine the shit out of them
A player at Juve wouldn't have to do that because we'd let them go wherever they want for free.

I can't believe a team would pay that much for him tho, what have I missed?

I think some of the Russian teams have big money to offer just nobody with options would want to go there. Landing a Niang level player by offering much higher wages then he would get in western Europe is probably the best they can do

We could not go to work now because of this? I'll be calling out all of next month then.
Technically, in the UK at least, yeah. You could.

Like half of the long term sickness absences in this country are stress related. Quite easy to get that sick note for stress and be signed off for weeks/months.

I couldn't find the comedy thread, so I post this here:

Cancelo: 'Dani Alves my idol'
By Football Italia staff

New Inter signing Joao Cancelo says Dani Alves is “my idol”, and is ready to face Roma on Saturday.

The full-back has joined the Nerazzurri on loan from Valencia, and answered questions from fans today.

“Why did I come to Inter?” Cancelo considered, responding to social media questions.

“The fact of playing in a different league. It’s a very physical league compared to the Spanish one, it’ll be a way to learn.

“It all happened very quickly, Inter is a huge club which has proven itself at the European level. I accept the challenge, I have to work and help Inter achieve our goals.

“I came to Inter for the challenge, seeing the trophies I understand that this is one of the biggest clubs in Europe. It’s a responsibility.

“Serie A is one of the most important leagues in Europe, it’s very competitive. There have always been great teams in Serie A.

“It’ll be a new experience for me, I have the opportunity to represent a big club and win my place in the World Cup squad.”

Cancelo has taken the number 7 shirt previously worn by Luis Figo, but sees his role model as a Brazilian right-back.

“He was a very important player but I chose it because it’s my favourite number and for my mother. My role model is Dani Alves.

“Dani Alves is my idol, but I don’t feel like him. Seven was my mum’s favourite number, as well as her birthday.”

The defender was then asked if he’s ready to face Roma this weekend.

“Yes,” Cancelo assured, before discussing some other landmarks for this season.

“San Siro? I’ve played in important stadiums, but not there. It’s one of the greatest stadiums, so it’ll be very emotional.

“The derby with Milan? It’ll be a great match between two top sides, I hope we can win.”

Erick Thohir made a gaffe when asked about why he bought Inter in 2013. “I’ve been a fan since they bought the Dutch trio…”

Thohir wrongly referred to Frank Rijkaard, Ruud Gullit and Marco van Basten, all of whom joined Milan in the 1980s, when Inter had actually signed the German trio of Lothar Matthaus, Andreas Brehme and Jurgen Klinsmann.

“Buying a football club isn’t just a matter of business, you have to love that team,” the club’s President told Metronews in his native Indonesia.

“I’ve been an Inter fan since they bought the Dutch trio and then Ronaldo’s arrival.

“But I want to thank President Moratti for giving me the opportunity to become the club’s first foreign President.”
