Sampdoria was shid level so is not a good test. Worrying is that everytime we face proper teams we get exposed in the mid.

3 points, nice, but dont get fooled by the score. All the problems are still there,

Very happy about the three points, but our problems remain.

Played terribly for most of the game and there's very little understanding betweeen Higuain and the rest of the team.

Was awesome to see Marchisio back

Pjanic seems to be the only one on the same page as Higuain and his movement thus far. We saw it again in the 2nd half with that amazing long ball that put Higuain through on goal. Amazing first touch, but his finish let him down. He seems to be the only one capable of picking out Higgy's runs so far, the problem is that Pjanic has been very Jekyll and Hyde this season. Needs to get more consistent in taking control of chance creation from the midfield, because he is going to make or break our midfield offensively this season.

Nevertheless, we still showed quite a few weaknesses tonight, even with this mid. Again, i would go with Hydes advice and nkt get carried away against Napoli. We misplaced a lot of passes tonight, gave the ball away and really lacked that final touch. You can see that we just need a bit more chemistry between the players.

I agree with you that Pjanic is the only one following Higuain. Many times you would see Higuain running in an empty space and our players dont follow him up with a pass. Our mid should really learn how to exploit Higuains off the ball movement.

Our wingbacks/wingers seem entirely oblivious to his movement in the box most of the time. Often he drops for a pass instead of cross, but they have swung a cross into no one anyways. Same deal with their cutbacks into the box, he's in the right space but they don't seem to get their heads up to put the ball on his feet, and just put into space where no Juve player is. It's frustrating to watch at times, because Higgy's movement in the box is excellent.

Well, that isbsomething that Higuain should talk over with the rest of his teammates.

Comfortable enough in the end, but we have this tendency to play at 30% of our capabilities after taking the lead. We can't just always assume we can go in auto pilot mode for ~75 mins of every game, Samp are no world beaters, but if you slack off they can punish you as we saw with their goal from the Chiellini error.

Overall happy with the three points, Mandzukic scoring, Cuadrado notching another two assists and the response after their goal. Now onto Napoli. Hopefully Higuain can break his mini goal drought against them.

We have our two biggest games yet this season coming up next. We wanted to use as little energy as possible which is understandable especially since we played most of our starters.

Indeed, plus we were playing with players returning from injury. We controlled the intensity we wanted to play at, so we're winning without much effort. I'm just happy we're winning, but I hope we can up the intensity when we have to.

What formation did we play? 433? Cheesio anchored it well coming from a long layoff.

Someone needs to play through the middle, our #9 has excellent off the ball movement yet we'rr passing out wide.
