are you sure i heard he got shot by tiago for a shot in the starting line up.
Ha ha:rofl: nice!
I m really sorry for those two, the situation in our team is kind of unfair, regarding their status and chances to play.
Almiron was very ambitious when he started with us, he was blazing at the pre-season matches, but there is little hope for him now...
btw welcome to the forums Salvatore:pint:

River Plate Chase Juventus Midfielder Almirón

River Plate are one of a number of clubs that have expressed in interest in taking Sergio Almirón on loan from Juventus for the remainder of the season.

Juventus sport director Alessio Seco has confirmed that the club has received offers from three clubs to loan Sergio Almirón for the next six months.

"We have had offers from Besiktas of Turkey, Olympiakos of Greece and River [Plate] of Argentina for the player Almirón," he confirmed in his statement. "In all the cases they ask us for a loan."

River Plate's new manager Diego Simeone has identified Almirón as the player to fulfil the role filled by Juan Sebastián Verón at his previous team Estudiantes, after missing out on his primary target Andrés D'Alessandro.

Although River cannot offer the same amount of money as their two European counterparts, they are hoping that the lure of a return to his home country will be enough to persuade Almirón to join up with them for the 2008 Clausura and Copa Libertadores tournaments.

He is known to be a great lover of South American music and Italian cuisine and with it looking unlikely that he will be able to find another Italian team for the remainder of the season, a return to Buenos Aires seems like a perfect fit.

Almirón, nicknamed 'The Witch', has spent nearly seven years in Italy, since signing for Udinese from Newell's Old Boys in 2001. He enjoyed spells with Verona and Empoli before signing for Juventus this summer for a fee reported to be in the region of €9 million.

However, he has only played sporadically under Claudio Ranieri in Turin and it seems that Juventus are ready to offload the midfielder on a short-term basis in the hope that he will regain the form he showed previously at Empoli.

There are rumors that we might use "The Witch" in a swap deal for Augusto Fernandez from River Plate. What's with all the Argentinians nowadays?Escudero,Maidana,Fernandez,Mascherano...I wouldn't mind them though.
