Sergio set for London?
Juventus midfielder Sergio Almiron is being linked with a move to the Premier League with West Ham and Tottenham believed to be interested. The Argentine has failed to fully settle in Turin and it has been suggested that Bianconeri sporting director Alessio Secco discussed his sale when he was in London last month. An estimated £6m would be required to secure the ex-Empoli man’s services.

Almiron To Leave Juventus?

Juventus midfielder Sergio Almiron may be set for a January transfer to the English Premiership, according to Tuttosport.

The Argentine midfielder, who turned 27 today, only signed for the Bianconeri from Empoli in the summer for €9m.

However like fellow new-boy Tiago Mendes, Almiron has not enjoyed the best of starts to the season and is behind both Cristiano Zanetti and Antonio Nocerino in the central midfield pecking order.

According to Tuttosport, Almiron has between now and January to prove he is worthy of staying in Turin. If his form does not improve, then the Juventus hierarchy will consider offers that match the sum they payed for him.

Bianconeri director of sport Alessio Secco was in London a fortnight ago discussing transfer dealings and was told that both West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur would be interested in buying Almiron should he become available.

Spurs in particular are in desperate need to strengthen their midfield, which is seen by many as the weak link of their team.

Almiron, who has never played for his country, is the son of Sergio Almiron Sr, a former international striker who won the World Cup in 1986 wearing the number one shirt.

He together with Tiago should be given more time ...
I certainly do not hope the management makes 2 blunders in our 2 expensive midfield acquisitions by buying and selling within a season... at a loss for that matter.

Can Moggi be employed as a secret back-door consultant ? :eyebrows:

gotta question Secco's signings if he is willing to get rid of 2 our most high-profile transfers...the other 1 being Tiago of course
