We shouldn't be throwing large amounts at young talent when we have enough already. Atletico payed 20 million euro's for him when he was phenom in Argentina. With a successful U20, and a good La Liga campaign, I wouldn't be surprised if his price has doubled. He is to expensive, and that money could be spent more efficiently.

Still, he is a fantastic player. I saw him live a few times at the U20, and he was awesome. Aguero and Di Maria were the 2 most exciting attackers for Argentina. Juve should have gone after Di Maria. He is at Benfica now, and there fans are impressed.
We almost signed De Maria last summer..it was even announced on some arsenal websites that we agreed with him..only for Benfica to steal him from under our noses in the last minute.....is he a player we'll regret missing on?

Juventus has to be careful not to blow the wad on players that (while elite) do not fill a hole. Once the team has 11 top notch players, then they can go on shopping expeditions on nice prizes.

Offense is where the team has the most depth. Palladino and Giovinco are young, with a ton of potential, as well, Trezeguet and Iaquinta aren't exactly ancient. Not to mention Del Piero will be useful to some extent for the next couple years. A big purchase isn't needed here. Most I would do here if so compelled is go after someone young with a much smaller pricetag like Quagliarella or Huntelaar.

Midfield is a big priority area. Marchisio and Nocerino will be midfield stalwarts for many years to come. Marchionni, Salihamidzic, and Camoranesi have a few years too, so the right side is alright. Tiago, Zanetti, and Almiron are in their prime ages, so I'd say the centre is pretty set too. Left wing has serious issues. While Nedved is one of my all-time favorite players, he's just not the same anymore. Big money needs to be spent on an elite level LWM. Quaresma, Mancini, VDV, Vicente, or someone like that.

Defense is the other big priority area. Chiellini and Criscito will be stars... Chiellini arguably already is. Andrade is injury prone and there's no telling what he'll be like when he comes back. Legrottaglie is playing really solid right now, but that could change at any time. Boumsong is pretty much a bust. Grygera and Zebina are serviceable right backs. Jury is out on Molinaro, and loyal Juventino Birindelli is nearing the end. Major investment needed.

Goaltending is set. Buffon has many years at the top left. Mirante will do as a backup long term.

Long story short... while I'd love to see Aguero, he's just too pricey a luxury.

I wouldn't mind going after his teammate Ever Banega, or Diego Capel of U-20 Spain fame though.

DP is the kind of player that offers much more than his natural skills, his leadership, mentality and experience. Juve must have him on the field or at the very least on the bench in order to succeed. Aguero certainly cannot offer those characteristics right now. To even compare the two is kind of ridiculous. It might be more realistic to compare Aguero to a young Trez or even to Palla. But definitely not Del Piero.

First of all,Palla is my one and only DP heir. Govinco can come as a sub. money of Aguero culd do better.

First: midfield.....purchase of Almiron was a mistake. Almiron who? comparisons with Veron were and now are laughable to me.

I said: Tiago OK......but,I think too that he will be a flop. I'll give him(or both) time, but I would do something else. I'd buy one young and classy midfield player, like Banega or,for me the future od Arsenal: Diaby! I would keep marchisio and pair them with two old flank foxes: Nedved & Camo....and I would enjoy watching them mature. Too risky some would say: no risk no profit!! There would always be Zanetti as a cover up.

And finally money for defence. Who wouldn't like a class right back as Dani Alves? :)

Aguero is a future, for Atletico Madrid's bank account......

I think you guys need center backs more than anything right now, at least for depth if anything. Tiago will come around, it usually takes players a few months or half a season to adjust to a new league. Serie A isn't just any league, it takes time for anyone to adjust, especially a guy who played in France. Alves would be a remarkable pick up for Juve, though you may want to look toward a player with some defensive skill. I figure Alves will cost pretty close to 20M which won't be a steal.

I agree with you guys, if Iaq stays affective, we wont need a new striker. Iaq, Trez, DP, Palla and Gio will be more than enough

Nedved's replacement and 2 CBs are all we need , but they have to be Class, proven, experienced and mature players, we dont need U-21 players , we have plenty of them, and they are all promosing

I'm just afraid our management does another stupid deal, like rumors of swapping Palladino with Gilla, buying Crouch, selling Gio to a Russian club

Italian giants eye Argentine

Juventus and Inter :wallbang: are chasing Argentine starlet Sergio Aguero, but will need deep pockets to lure the in-form Atletico Madrid striker.

Aguero has scored 11 times in 31 games for Los Rojiblancos since his arrival from Independiente for a fee of close to £10m and is helping fill the gap left by the departed Fernando Torres.

The 19-year-old hitman is believed to be an option for the Old Lady if contract negotiations with Alessandro Del Piero continue to stall, while Inter have been watching him for nearly a year.

However, it seems that Aguero has his heart set on playing alongside fellow countryman Lionel Messi, the player to whom he has regularly been compared.

“Messi and I have always spoken a lot,” he told Punto Radio. “And we have laughed a lot about the fact we have scored the same number of goals so far this season as neither of us expected it.

“I’d love to play next to Messi, but of course he would have to come to Atletico,” he concluded.

While Juve and Inter will undoubtedly keep an eye on Aguero, they may be scared away by his estimated price tag of around £15m.

Theres no way he'll ever find any place in barca..

Juves board should give DP the contract he wants,he deserved it after all those years.
