You guys know how long Sean Paul has been around right?

Since like 1994/95 I have know of his music. Mostly cause I was into dancehall back then.

I knew of his "Gimme the light song" like three years before he released it on MTV.

This Kevin Little punk too, he's old news. That Turn me on song was the popular song three years ago at the Carnival in Trinidad.

I knew he wasn't new, but I had no idea that he's been there for so long.

Btw, he visited my city too this summer.
It seems like he's everywhere. :D

Yep, he got pretty big now. What surprised me is how people think the Kevin Little song "Turn me on" is Jamaican Dancehall/reggae when it is not. It is more or less soca which is a type of music from Trinidad.

You know the song by the Baha Men "Who let the dogs out". The was originally a Soca song.

You know Rupee. That's cool. He's also Soca music.

Yea I know it. Where did you hear it if I may ask? You live so close to Trinidad and all but I doubt you get that music? Maybe I am wrong.

We dont get much of that stuff here,I actually heard it on Miami/Orlando in those Jamz/Rap/Hip Hop/R&B radio stations and liked it a lot, I asked a lady in FYE if she knew the name of the song and she didnt even know who Rupee was. I guess that music is becoming popular now in the USA because of Sean Paul and now Kevin Lyttle.
Reggaeton is becoming very popular in Florida now too

The thing is alot of people are going to think that type of music is Reggae from Jamaica while in fact it is called "Soca" which is from Trinidad.

Rupee is from Barbados, he sings Soca, which was created in Trinidad along with the Steel Pan.

Kevin Lyttle is from St. Lucia also.
