Disaster area in Pennsylvania. We have had about 14 inches of new snow plus wind gusts of 25mph, creating blizzard conditions. Some locations to my East already have 20 inches again. The city I live in has declared a snow emergency and banned travel. Governor Rendell closed I-81, 83 and 78 throughout Central and Eastern Pennsylvania, and might close some State roads.

Back edge is in sight but appears to be back-building and filling in. The coastal low has bombed out to a central pressure of 964 millibars, which is basically the pressure of a cat 3 hurricane!

This is the craziest shit I have ever seen.

    That's how it is here...
Is it true we're getting more snow this weekend?
I've heard that it's possible, starting any day between sunday through tuesday.

It is Allah's wrath that is incurring this. It was written in the book, that all Western infidels will purge from nature that Allah hath granted to thou.

Just walked down to a main state road. 2 inches of snow on the ground but there are 3 foot snow drifts. Roadways basically impassable unless you have a plow or monster truck...

The low off the coast is stalling. That's not good. Looks like the local mets in SOuthern PA and Maryland did indeed underestimate this storm.

I have about 15 to 18 inches of new snow out there. That would mean we have about 40 inches of snow on the ground since Friday.

If this does end up stalling, which it appears to be doing, watch the fuck out. This thing will strengthen even more and throw back some more precip over the area.

Temperatures in the low 20's here. That means snow ratios of 18 or so to one inch of liquid.

It's much warmer in Buffalo right now and upstate New York. 30 degrees there. Gotta love the upper atmospheric motion, pulling in colder temps down here.

Just saw this comment on a weather board. Gentleman from Frederick, MD.

I was just outside plowing and could only go 100 ft. I don't think people realize the gravity of the situation we are in down in MD. While I can only speak for the blue ridge of frederick, we now have 4ft as a common base with 6-8ft drifts and I cannot get out. There is no way to plow my driveway.

Still snowing, and total accumulation is around 26" at this point.

This puts a 4 day total around 56-60".

This is dangerous and I pray that relief will come soon
