What the hell is up with 'tuz these days? Its like you guys are fans of certain players and not team. Whenever a player from our team does bad people try to hunt down the people that like the player. Whether its the Gio fans, Quag, Vucinic, Matri, Marchisio etc etc there always seems to be people who take joy in seeing certain Juve players fail so they can come back to their threads and go complete bananas. A few years back when I joined it wasn't like this.
Well times have changed and a lot of newcomers have set the new modus operandi of the forum.

but its down to the mods. they accept too much trolling and way too many insults, but then again some of the mods are definitely not shy when it comes to this sort of behavior themself....
Sadly, this is the truth.

what the fuck are you on about, you've been going full retard in every thread since the game last night.
Yeah, like the Peluso thread where I said he had a decent game, and the Vidal thread where I blamed him for the first goal. And the Vucinic thread where I pointed out he's equally responsible for our poor forward performance. That is do retarded!

Are you really calling out Sheik about last night?

Mister "Me and my daddy are going to go rape people with plungers".
No, I'm just saying that Sheik shouldn't be a part of 'gee this forum overracts' discussion considering his antics. I'm very much not in it, I accept that. Never have I even tried to give the impression that I'm rational when it comes to football, it's the one sphere in my life where I can say and do things that would normally exclude me from any society. I can't be as cool or distanced from this game as some other members are, but what I find annoying is people like Sheik who did nothing but knee jerk the entire evening after the game last night, end up in a discussion about how the forum should calm down and not insult players. That's hypocrisy.

yep.

there are some mods who are decent, but as a group they suck. thats quite obvious for anyone whove been on this forum for more than three months. theres a clear lack of consistency and that in the long run will ruin a community. dont be afraid to hand out warnings and bans. problem is that many of the 'big shots' in here are some of the rudest members - a culture of insult and trolling have grown on 'tuz from that. its simple social psychology. friendly banter is dead, ridicule is the 'new' black.

You're an idiot if you think what I'm speaking against knee-jerk reactions. There is nothing knee-jerk about the extreme hatred exhibited by some posters here. They don't care how we're playing. All they're interested in doing is abusing Giovinco and calling him names. When was the last time I went into a players' thread and hurled abuses like "Fuck Giovinco" at them? Never! So shut the fuck up.

A long time ago, simply cursing was enough to warrant an infraction.

Maybe he changed his mind?

Truth of the matter, everyone went full retard. The idea that that is okay is something we've got to change.

who cares which i prefer? that has very little to do with the issue at hand.
I was speaking generally about the forum, moderation style, etc. Would you rather us be more strict? And if so are you willing to hold to that even when you become part of the problem. Many members of the forum were happy when Kate, Jay, and myself were promoted with promises to be more strict only to complain over the smallest of warnings.

If I ask you what you think, it's because I value your opinion and I will most likely bring it up in the Mod forum.

I'd rather you be more strict. I was honestly surprised that I didn't get a warning for my posts on the Vucinic thread.

1) consistency: hand out warnings and bans according to the rules. use warnings a lot, they dont cost any points, if you guys were too quick to hand out the warning.

2) culture change: 'old-timers' and 'big shots' are too often being overlooked when they are mistreating other members - this is a huge issue.

3) change the mindset of the mods: have fewer 'old-timers' in the mod-group to try and stir up the obvious ingrown mindset of the mods - i actually appreciate you and kate in the mod-group. but you cant do it alone, unfortunately

4) when a mod isnt a good mod. kick him/her: how can a member with a personal vendetta against another member still be a mod? that's beyond any sound reasoning

5) mods should be good examples for the rest of the community. too many mods are on a regular basis arrogant and/or obnoxious to other members - this is a common thing due to promoting members to mods, you see it around all internet communities.

just to mention; i was a mod on a similar forum for a couple of years. half the people who got mod-status lost it within six months (either kicked or left) - its a painful job because you cant act as a 'normal' member anymore.
