I don't think that chance in the first half was as easy as the majority (in the live thread) appeared to think.

Would like to see it again, but it looked like a half chance instead of clear one.

Bit more than a half chance, but not easy like some made out. He was forced onto his left side, so you are always weaker and have to slide it (easier) or curl on the wrong foot (harder).

I disagree. Mirko gave away the ball that resulted in a dangerous counter attack for Shakhtar. Plus, he wasted that golden chance where he took a heavy touch to go round the keeper. Gio was the better player today.

Mirko is always going to give the odd ball away. Agreed on when he was round the keeper he should have just shot a la Giovino v Chelsea. Still thought he had an excellent game for the reasons I said before.

Yeah, we were lucky, Gio had nothing to do with the player being pressured into putting the ball in goal.
If we didn't have a player on that Shakhtar defender he would have cleared that ball easily.

Yeah, commentator pointed that out, pass was too slow/behind a little, so forced it on ze wrong side and made it little trickier.

He still could have done it better, from the replay it looked as if he didn't struck it how he wanted.

But a decent game overall, certainly better then some where he was constantly being pushed off the ball left and right.

Oh yeah he could have done it better, not a consistent natural finisher, but since this is a chance that will overly pointed out like anything he does, just clarifying it wasnt THAT easy. Loved Vuci's build up that chance though, just muscling his way through, though unfortunate pass wasnt little more rapid.

Yep, his decision making is ALOT better then it was in initial games, its just minor things, but he flows better with the team in general, knows what to do and move in right patterns. Though him and Vuci arent just made to play together. Though I dont mind them continuing together, in the long run the two best attackers we have.

I loved how the referee let the play go on on that dangerous attack Gio and Vucinic pulled together. Your average serie A s*ckass referee would've stopped the game for a foul, they sure hate Giovinco

Maybe Serie A refs will learn a thing or two from tonight (except for that penalty we were not awarded :xmas: , they handle stuff like this perfectly)
