every above average defender, knows his opponent

giovinco will tick it to the side and attempt a shot

every half decent defender will mark him close in the box so he cant shoot, and is forced to cut back or go round, the central defender makes sure cutting inside wont work

when he goes round, you block it off for a corner

it doesnt require to be fucking boss chiellini or vidic to do this, against giovinco for crying out loud

See, that shot went through the defenders legs. Knowing football (and i assume you do, you're a juventino ffs), you would know that, no matter how good you're marking your player, things as such happen, and you're just unlucky. Props to Gio for getting that ball in.

You are not giving the midget credit enough.

He can be annoying at times and yeah the torino defenders were not stellar... but Seba still is a troublesome player to mark because of his innate characteristic and dribbling prowess when space is given. The problem that poor fella had today could be the same problem for a top defender if gio do his things right.
When on his day, he is very dangerous when he dribble passes the man marking him on that side of the field and he gets some space to run into the danger zone.

I would not discredit the 433 formation at all, if we get a VERY good striker to complement the lack of TNT from gio and Vucinic.

lol its so funny reading comments here like "hmmm, he really is better on the wings" .... "well, that was refreshing. he is a good winger" .....Its like some of the people here have started watching football only yesterday.

Of course he is better on the wings. Thats what "the gio fan-boys" were blabbing about since the start of the season. He is a winger and that is the only position he can play. A WINGER. On the wings. From the sides. On the flanks.

Thats why he should play on the wings. Cause he is a winger. Who plays on the wings. On the wings he should play. Play he should on the wings, cause he is a winger he is.

Wel i think giovinco has shown today and against chelsea what his uses are

when holding a lead, playing against a pressing team, while we play the counter, giovinco as SS is a great choise. he'll pounce on the counterattack and actually win 1-1's because of the space he can burst into, defenders will think twice to faul, cause its nearly allways a card.

when playing a confined team, he should NEVER EVER try to take on players. he fails each and every time. However, just as in his first period at juventus, giovinco has allways had a very good long pass/early cross. he should take the ball and make pace to the side. then eighter cut back and lay it off to the supporting CM(vidal/pirlo) , pass it to the RWB in space OR cut inside and connect with vucinic or early cross it.

If he can do that, he could be a good addition when having to play 3 attackers

Are you sure it was Torino having a man short and not Juventus having a short man? :D

I suppose it's a little from column A, and a little from column B. :p

You can clearly see how good friends Marchisio and Giovinco are, especially in the celebrations if one of them scores a goal.
So much fun to watch, those two love each other, and basically get to live out one of their childhood dreams together. Pretty fucking cool.

Giovinco looked like the happiest man on earth seeing that standing ovation :touched:

And btw, I thought his reaction when he got subtituted shows the lesson learned by all players following the Quagliarella incident :D Boss Conte.

I would give him MOM, Marchi was damn good, but he was decisive, that cross and the second goal to finish toro off deserved the standing ovation..We really should stick with 4-3-3 playing against smaller teams,we could be deadly when Mirko,Marchi and Gio are playing well..

Gio had a very good game against a weak side but a game of high pressure and importance. He didnt crack under pressure and playing well in these big games will give him the kind of experience and mental strength we all know he lacks. I doubt he will ever be a world beater but he is certainly superior to the likes of Bojan. He can develop into a reliable player with some flair and good technique if his mental strength increases.
