We got paid in the the first place for his half, so it's not like we paid 11m for him in the end.
More like 5-6m but he got plenty of important game time and has proven that he deserves another chance.
Might have overpaid a little but not as much as some in here make it to be.
Hope he does well, otherwise it'll be hard to offload him.

Why the hate for Gio? Even if he's a shit player, like some people think him to be just because the club decided to send him out and about and never give him a fair chance, doesn't mean he is to blame for it.

I for one, don't get why we've decided to buy him back, but from the looks of it Conte does believe in him and he's been brought in to play for the team. That can only mean a good thing because we know he's a Juventino at heart. If this is not the case, we must make it a point to sell him outright in whatever deal we intend to use him for, so for once and for all, it can end his relationship with the club. I'd be happy to have him here because I really think that he's a good squad player.

Giovinco wants playing time... Fiorentina is a bigger club then Parma and if he isn't bought here to play then im sure he'll accept a Fiorentina deal.. Keep in mind guys; Giovinco stated he would only return to Juve on a permanent basis if we offered him a certain amount of games - same as we did with Pirlo.. Do you think Conte agreed to that?
I dont think anyone asked Giovinco about how many games he wants to play

We and Parma co owned him and he has a contract with both so its not down to him.

am I the only one who doesn't see Giovinco fitting into Conte's scheme and system? maybe Im completely wrong on this....
I think that if anything, Conte has shown his willingness to adapt to different systems with the players at his disposal. This is why, in my opinion, Asamoah and Isla were purchased, as they will give Conte different options for tactics and formations

If we dont guarantee him a certain amount of games he'll want to leave. In that case we can't keep him.. It's not FM

I'm not singling you out on this, but it seems that a lot of people are having issues over the price for Giovinco to come back.

Let's think about this for a second.

Juve, according to reports, have paid 11 million in cash to return him to Juve.

Subtract the 3 million paid out by Parma last year, and that is now 8 million.

Now, let's take a look at the quality of player that is being brought back for 8 million.

A 25 year old AMF/SS who led Parma (Parma, mind you), to an 8th place finish last year. 15 goals and 11 assists.

A player who was also given something that cannot be valued or quantified in monetary terms. He was given 2 years to develop his game. 2 years where he was an everyday player. With no guarantees, despite what others might think, that he would have gotten nearly as much playing time in those 2 years had he remained at juventus.

So you have to ask yourself if a net 8 million euro payout for 2 years of experience where he had a great season last year, was worth it to juventus. Probably secure in the knowledge that A) Juve had every intention to bring him back, and B) the only way that Parma, a team which has had excellent relations with Juve over the years, would have kept him for that 2nd season would have been if they had a vested financial interest in him.

Keep in mind that I am sure that others would say that they should have just continually loaned him out. It simply doesn't work that way when you are discussing someone of his talent, and age. This was probably the only way that this deal could have been done, and quite honestly, it could have probably only been done with Parma.

To me, to get a 25 year old player who had the type of season that he had , for 8 million, is very good piece of business.
Great post.

edit: I need to spread first. :(

Well that's what the haters tend to say, "he's not a real Juventino".
