We have been talking about his potenial for years. He started playing with the first team around 2006, got many chances, but didn't show plenty of improvment. He isn't reliable on the wing, doesn't apply as much pressure on opponents, doesn't tracking back, and you need a stay home Left back behind him if he is starting, otherwise that defensive line would be in big trouble. I do like Pepe's more than Gio to be honest on the wing, Pepe would do the dirty work that none would like to do, he isn't as technically gifted as Gio, but he is miles ahead of Gio tactical wise. He is more discipline than Gio.

Gio is already 23, he needs to prove his worth and put together some consistant performances, over along period of time. There are somethings won't change, too small so defenders usually get him off his game easily by getting physical. His crosses aren't world class too, I would believe he might be more lethal as a trequatista, since he has the close control, nice first touch, and could place the ball nicely on each side of the goal. Maybe him being close to the box would make him more effective, better than drifting away to the wing and just get lost in the shuffle. Who knows, but I wouldn't mind having him as a SS, so his laziness and not wanting to track back, won't hurt the team as much

I disagree with everything but the Trequatista part. P.S it's really hard to prove yourself without consistent time
So, when you do watch Gio playing, do you daydream that he tracks back, don't allow much space behind which exposes our back line, and that he doesn't get knocked off the ball easily! My advise to you, is to wake up by slapping yourself around a couple of times when you sit infront of the TV to watch him playing, it would probably help you

Nawwwwww I see it. Just choose to ignore it. He provides more going forward then pepe. Just get a really defensive LB behind him.

I said you need a good defensive LB behind him, that won't go up as often, but are we capable of getting such guy, a world class LB would be above 20 millions, and I don't see us spending such sum on defense, we are going to keep getting mediocre players outhere, in the mean time until our managements decide to use their brain and buy a Good LB a RB, Pepe would be a better option than Gio, specially. By the way, Krasic too tend to be lazy about tracking back same problem as Gio, and doesn't help as much, but Krasic is much more effective going forward, and he has that burst of speed that gives him extra advantage when facing defenders, and he shows it on a consistant basis.

Someone explain to me why, unlike in the EPL for example, co-owned and loaned players are allowed play against that club that co-owns or loaned them.

Considering the scoring record that ex players have against us, Juve should be eager for this to implemented.
Right here.

There are so many loans and co-ownerships in Serie A, it wouldn't be practical.
It would be perfectly practical for a few of said players, not all.

So, when you do watch Gio playing, do you daydream that he tracks back
Who really cares if he does. Big deal if he doesn't, even though he did today.

Lots of wingers add absolutely nothing to the defense. It's not something out of the ordinary, but for some reason at Juventus we make a big stink out of it.

I'm definitely going to mark swag's post about Seba not showing up for another 8 matches. That doesn't seem like the case after his season so far. Sounds like a few of you are letting the bitterness of today get to ya.

I think it's a big deal, specially if you have the likes of Grosso, PDC and etc as your LB. You could argue that krasic doesn't track too, but Milos atleast he is more ffective going forward than Gio and way more consistant I am defintely not bitter of Gio, good for him he scored twice. If he ever comes back, he should be used as a SS instead of a winger, maybe he might be more consistant. Who knows!

You can't play Giovinco in a 4-4-2. He can only come on as a sub. We got rid of him for the same reason we got rid of Diego. They don't fit our team. Whether the 4-4-2 is a viable formation is another debate but that was the logic of our brass IMO.

Sorenson--Bonucci--Chiellini--De Ceglie
-------------Melo-----Marchisio--------
----------------Aquilani------------------
Krasic------------ST-------------Giovinco

We don't even play a 4-4-2 right now as krasic doesn't track back much so we play a 4-3-3- technically with marchisio squezing in the middle , or a 4-2-3-1

I remembered how Lanzafame scored twice against us last year... Why we brought him back I have no clue... Its better for Gio to ply his trade elsewhere, at least he'll get some playing time... I was more sad when we didn't sign Candreva, the guy played consistently well for us... Don't know how he's playing right now but he was good for us... But with the CMs we have right now, I think we made the better choice...

I knew this would happen. Doesnt make him a great player though Anyway wish him the best of luck but this potential talk is a load of crap. Also if he is so good why is he not wanted by a decent team? He is that cheap and no other team would pay more or surely we would have given them Gio. If you are going to say that Gio never got a chance then shut up about Martinez and Pepe because Pepe has done way more with his oppertunities here although I dont think he is the guy to take us to the next level he is consistant and helps the team alot

Krasic did a fantastic job tracking back against Giovinco today.

If you think tracking back is a big deal, then why haven't I seen you complain about Krasic today previously?
