Often read that Diego dented the chances of gio playing, i find that strange..especially when the club is looking to offload both of these players.

Anyway, Gio would suit a 4-4-2 playing on the left provided he had a hard working left back who could really cover when gio cuts in. The thing that i dont understand is that martinez was brought in for the left, why not try giovinco on the right? if we cant get krasic due to the non EU rules, why not give gio that chance?

Ventura has Giovinco dream

Giampiero Ventura believes Juventus midfield playmaker Sebastian Giovinco would turn Bari into a 'super team'.

Giovinco's future at Juventus is uncertain to say the least after a season spent on the sidelines.

The 23-year-old would like regular first team football and looks unlikely to find it in Turin.

Interviewed in La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ventura was asked if he would persist with the versatile 4-4-2 he used to great effect last season, which often changed to a 4-2-4.

“It'll be the usual base, but I would like to attempt an evolution.

“If Giovinco were to arrive, hopefully by exalting his characteristics, we would turn to playing with a trequartista, passing to a 4-3-1-2.”

Ventura then denied meeting Giovinco in Verona last week.

I can confirm that I didn't see Giovinco and the less we speak the better.

“I hope that the lad chooses Bari to show his qualities and to play with continuity.”
