del neri uses a flat 4-4-2...there is no room for gio
the only option nis a 4-2-3-1 with gio on the left

And I wouldn't be sure there was any substance to the Giovinco to Samp rumours.

He would only really have fitted Del Neri's system in Cassano's position.

haha I know, I saw it used the other day and the same thing crossed my mind.

As for Gio, yeah perhaps but I think he could be really useful on the wing too. He did fine when replacing Neddy the couple times last year.

Depends if Del Neri is willing to be a bit more adventurous with his wide men when at Juve.

At Samp he looked to them to work very hard and track back a lot to help the fullbacks, to the point that it would often look like Samp were playing a back five and Giovinco couldn't do that.

Difference was with Samp his defence was weak. Depending on who we sign at the back I think we'll see Del Neri being a bit more adventurous with the wingers.

He never did that, but he would keep the fullbacks very narrow to help the CBs and expected the wingers to go back and cover the area the fullbacks would normally have to cover.

So it was actually 6-2-2. :p

Then cassano dropping deep, making it a 6-3-1.
Then Palombo being the anchor, effectively another CB which would make it a 7-2-1
:D
