That they left him out was "preventative"...
As if he's injured, from what should he get injured? Did he fell from the bench?
As far as I'm aware, even Giovinco takes part in training sessions. I'm guessing that if he's injured he picked something up there.

Or maybe he's just really dead.

Do you assume that Zaccheroni didn’t need him and ordered to cover this story with announcing an injury?

Sab, you’re better than that. Of course he had a knock maybe in training or something.

I do have feeling Gio will end up like Saviola. They can't get to the peak of their ability and career. And one of the part of the reason is their physical stature is not big or strong enough..

I remember Saviola is such a wonderful player in youth. Even better than Gio, becoming top scorer, best player, and champion in one of youth world cup with Argie

So, a bench warmer for the other? At least Giovinco is loyal enough to sit quietly on the bench, Cassano would go bananas. If we're going to play with two strikers anyway I'd rather let Del Piero continue.
Oh come on. Cassano going bananas would be pretty funny for a while

I new you would respond. Whats the ruling with Cassano and Del Piero playing together? Cassano is in the top 3 players in the league. I would take him at the cost of Giovinco.

He's a character, I give you that.

So basically you're here to provoke me cause you know I think Giovinco should be a starter? You've been doing that a lot lately..

You know exactly why Cassano and Del Piero won't play together. Both of them chase the same balls and they are too similar.

I did not come here to provoke no. Cassano and Del Piero could easily play together. We have no width at the moment so we may aswell go out and buy Cassano to offer ever more creativity in the centre.

Del Piero-Cassano

Diego

That is pure sex.

If you have Cassano and Del Piero playing together, I'm not sure how much that would work.

Who would score the goals?

Cassano has never really been a 20 goal scorer, and Del Piero is showing as he gets older that he is best served in the role of a true support striker, providing assists with his pinpoint passes.

Where would the goals come from?

I think each of them would chip in with 10-15. Diego can easily reach double figures. I think having those two up top you would leave alot of space for the likes of Diego to exploit it would be a deadly combination for sure.

In order for the middle of the pitch to open up for Diego, wouldn't you have to have forwards who have the ability to do so, with pace and movement?

If that is true, then you are counting on a player who was never known for his pace (Cassano), and a 36 year old striker (Del Piero) to provide the separation.

The all seem to work their best in confined spaces, suddenly turning something out of nothing, which is fine if you don't have other players with similar qualities.

I can just envision a 3 man traffic jam just outside the box with these three. I don't think it will work.
