No quotes? Then it's BS to believe that deal is happening. I think we'll hear something like this within the next few days "Giovinco is a big part of the team's future and we intend on keeping him here.

Cassano? He is a world class player, who wouldn't want him here?"

That'll squash any Gio transfer rumors but keep the Cassano ones alive.

but you forgot that there are few options without changing the system ... who could cover giovinco better ? we have a molinaro that is (sad i have to say it) our best left back (from the defensive standpoint) and some de ceglie that is even more suspect on the left back position. there is no one that could bail out giovincos less defensive approach on the left back position. there could be a defensive midfielder that would play more left sided instead of central, but as we had many injuries, there were not even enough defensive midfielders available to choose from ... most of the time we had two def mids that were fit, so there is no possibility to put the one that could cover gio more on the pitch ..
You have to be more flexible than that. You don't have to put a defensive midfielder to cover for Gio full time, just to mind the runs made their and restrict himself from going forward all the time. Gio won't just stay upfront waiting for the ball, he will help out a lot but its just extra attention we need due to the weakness of the defense. Surely Poulsen, Marchisio, Mommo, or even Tiago. If we had a shortage of Defensive midfielders than Neddy should've been playing more in the middle because his work is better than both Poulsen and Tiago.

The fact that we even have to talk about whether or not we can field Giovinco because of his supposed "incapability" of playing defense is not only sad, but absolutely moronic.

Seriously, grow up, sort your life out, think a bit more, drink some coffee, treat yourself to a good dinner, and go to bed earlier.

Perhaps then you'll FUCKING complain when Marchionni is not adding anything to the defensive effort whenever he is fielded.

Goddamn moronic hypocrites.

That's the easiest solution we've got. Just fucking sell him. If people are so concerned with people who can defend, then sell Giovinco and buy a fucking left-back and put him at left-wing.

I don't think anything regarding this team has pissed me off more than the handling of Giovinco and the goddamn faggots that try to defend his sitting in the stands.

I haven't read all the post because I'm too lazy right now, but there is actually people saying Giovinco shouldn't play because he can't defend?
That is bullshit. For fuck sake, he is not a defender, he is not supposed to defend

Yes, there are people claiming we can't field Giovinco because our defense is too weak.

It is indeed bullshit, especially when the same people NEVER complain about how Marchionni has screwed up defensively on several occasions, yet defend his place in the team.

All this talk about Giovinco is simply excuses. Bullshit excuses to defend his sitting out of the game. Point blank and fucking period.

Following that logic let's use Sissoko instead of Amauri or Iaq, because both can't defend, and Sissoko could help to recover some balls up there :disagree:

Noneed for the dramatic tantrums, nobody said that he should be benched. We were just discussing the options Ranieri had to compensate for the defensive void without changing the system he likes.

The Giovinco debate is getting boring.

Just relax and wait for the new Juve coach to handle him differently next season.

No. It's not a dramatic tantrum. There are people here who have been defending this crap, saying that tactics are the concern as to why Giovinco is benched, you've seen it, and it's all nonsense. It's annoying. It's retarded.

System or no system, you play the best players. Period.

Logically, even if Giovinco was weaker in defense, than this Neddy, or whoever starts in front of him.
We should also consider the creativity benefits we get from him.
And even we could afford a minimal loss of defensive competitiveness, for a great boost forward!

The problem is that CR and none other than him, is the one who has a problem with that. He is such a coward and sacrifices everything for defensive coverage.
On the other hand he does little to enhance it, where it matters the most.

At the quality of our defenders...
