I think he's one of the most talented players in Europe and I think he just needs to get used to the fact that this isn't Spain or something.

I think we still didn't find his perfect position.Sounds weird but we play him everywhere...He played everywhere. When he shined as an AML his position was changed to support striker or it happened vice versa before.

Lavezzi is not that strong either but he's amazing. It's not like he's not for Italy.

I still have high hopes for him.
That's what I was saying:First he needs to find his perfect position.Since we don't play a 4-3-3 or a 4-3-2-1 we should field him as a left midfielder IMO.

Lavezzi is a whole different story when it comes to strength,Dusan.Same goes for let's say Miccoli. He's just 4 cm taller than Giovinco yet he has no problems playing in Serie A.Giovinco certainly doesn't has what it takes to be a supporting striker.

If you really think so, then you don't watch Juve matches.. Yesterday true he was terrible, that's because he used as a forward (at firts half), and the rest of the team sucked horribly, Giovinco can't play alone, he needs players like Camoranesi, Del Pie to show us his wonder. It's only one bad match and you guys already gave up on him :pumpkin:
I didn't see anybody in here who gave up on him so far.

I agree Lavezzi is a different story and that was not my point.

Being weak doesn't make him bad material for Serie A.Menez is weak as well but he's still awsome. He looks more mature than Giovinco.

We should find a real position and role for him and keep playing him there and not change his place every match.Of course he will play bad,who can get use to play like that.He should use his speed more and less dribblings since this is not Spain and his legs will be crushed.

:agree:
For the moment he should be played in Neddy's position...
Pavel has lost it lately and a bench time for him is a must now...we can use Gio there and call Nedved in an emergency situation...
It's time to concentrate on Gio now as we're not getting any LM in January...

Being weak makes it harder for him to suceed in Serie A though.Menez is 1,81 m(almost 20 cm taller than Gio) which makes it automatically easier for him, even if he looks kind of skinny aswell.

Anyway, since he doesn't has a chance in attack just field him in place of Nedved constantly and we'll see.

I browsed a lot through Italian Juve Forums like j1897.com and vecchiasignora.com and surprisingly a bunch of people are starting to doubt Giovinco's ability to play in Serie A.

My first reaction was "WTF?".Then I realized that they might be right. The question is not whether Giovinco is good enough,no one can doubt his talent. The question is:Is he able to play in Serie A despite being so small and relatively weak?Every time an opponent touches him he falls to the ground and the problem is that he doesn't always get a freekick.

It's not like he's old(22) but compared to other players at his age(Aguero,Messi &Co.) he achieved absolutely nothing. You might say that this is Ranieri's fault because he doesn't field him,but why shouldn't he field him?The fact that he fields Marchisio shows that he's willing to count on youngsters. The main problem is that Ranieri doesn't exactly know where to field him and as long as it stays like that he won't ever explode.

If it was up to me I'd field him in place of Nedved from now on,constantly! This way we see if he's up to the task to be our future #10.

Did we all expect too much of him?Did we even overrate him?Or is it solely Ranieri's fault? Please discuss.
100%

And I also agree he will shine in the Spanish league.

Menez is taller but he falls as much as Giovinco.Like I said he should use his speed more since this is Serie A.If it's Spain he'd get free role to dribble everyone on his way.

I liked how he played in Coppa. He was pretty much unstoppable.

:D Messi is the best player in the world by a mile! Slightly unfair comparison! If you were to compare everyone to messi, everyone is rubbish!

Its nothing harder and more complicating then just being trusted to play. Just play him as an offensive midfielder, give him time to fit in, and he will deliver, despite his handicap of being so weak. But now its just, he plays great for 1 game, and is on the bnech for a whole month til next game. No one can really function in those conditions.
