I partly agree with vSnoop. Actually Seba's natural role is Trequartista (This video shows how Seba played in the center: )
Maybe it's not accurate to compare his style with Zidane but his old position and style used to remind me of Aimar. I remember in Toulon Tournament, he mainly played behind two strikers as well. He has good game reading ability and great vision. In the Azzurri team, he had great moments both on the wing and in the center, but his performance in the center impressed me more.
Yesterday he did well and was introduced to Ranieri's 4-4-2 formation quite successfully However, I think there are other formations that suit him better, like 4-3-1-2 and 4-3-2-1 that give him more space in the center.
Anyway, I will be glad that he can always get his opportunities, no matter in what position and formation. Seba is quiite a utility player afterall. Would he develop into a player similar to Iniesta?

BTW: does anyone know where to download the full match? I'm dying to watch Seba again. It was his first time to play for Juventus in Serie A afterall!

Yea yea yea....I've seen this kind of hype before.....Maresca. And I always claimed he'll never be a top class midfielder. I won't say the same for Gio....I'll give him time but all that hype is just a madness....
Please don't say that Gio will never be a top class midfielder, because you're always right. I have just one thing to say to you: Watch the damn game and watch some other videos of Giovinco. If you can't see that the guy has all that it takes to be a world class player, you're either blind or you're an idiot. I think it's the later.

«Il contratto? In questo momento non mi interessa. Non m’importa nulla della trattativa. Ho un unico obiettivo: rimanere a vita nella Juventus».

Seba says that the contract extension doesn't interest him right now and that he has one single objective:staying at Juventus for life. What a champion, you gotta love him.

Shitty translation but you get the meaning....

Secco 'Giovinco? La Juve wants to invest. Agreement close '

13:42, 25 September

Alessio Secco is optimistic on the renewal of contract 'atomic ant' Giovinco. The director-white, exclusive to Sky, says: "I do not think there is a risk of a non-renewal. It 'a player grew on us. It' a wealth of society, we believe the Juve and wants to invest on him. The distance between demand and supply is not large. So it is likely to arrive shortly to the new agreement. The important thing is that Giovinco understand that it is still in place its process of maturation. It has the possibility to go away. Qundi must realize that has not arrived. "

Yeah, defenitely the best play of the whole game. The turns, that little flick from Amauri is great (the kind of flick ale and trez usually do with eachother).

Snoop, sorry to say but I think you couldn't have been more wrong. He's all about explosiveness, quick feet, dribbling, breaking defenses...he's closer to Messi than he is to Zidane. It's still one game I saw from him but wow...what a talent. It's been a long time since I saw someone in Juve who just took my breath away. He can easily play on the wing, hell, with skills like that, he can play pretty much anywhere bar defense.
actually the post you quoted is exactly what I think right now, and I stand behind it. Giovinco didn't play as a winger, he started on the left, and he was everywhere, he did what Nedved was doing lately, but he was more in the center than Nedved was in the previous matches. My english might not be perfect, but I am sure I know what winger is, a player that takes the ball from midfield from the sides, either takes it to a close area to the corner and make a cross from there, or he brakes the defense from the sides, goes inside the box and scores, A-la C.Ronaldo, correct me if I am wrong!

Giovinco did none of these, he was more like a playmaker, with one-twos, and distributed the ball with great passes, and CREATED attacks.

playing as a winger, and playing on the sides are not the same thing. If you noticed at the second half, he was in the center all the time. I watched him very carefully, I advise you to re-check every move he made. Yes, he crossed the ball close from the corner area, because he recieved the ball there and only crossed, that doesn't make him a winger, Iaquinta, Del Piero everyone does that, heck even Nocerino..

I prefer him on the center, next to Nedved and front of Sissoko. I posted that line up somehwere else:

------------Iaquinta - Amauri

Nedved --- Giovinco ------ Camoranesi

---------------Sissoko

De Ceglie

The role he played suits him too, but this way he will be more effective. But as a winger? he will be a waste. probably at the first 20 minutes of the match, he tried to get pass defenders from left to make a cross, he was down. he never tried after that. If you have the copy of the match, re-watch it and you will see what I am talking about exactly.

after Neddy retires it might be like this:

Buffon

Grygera ---- Legro ---- Chiellini ---- De Ceglie

Sissoko ----------- Zanetti

Camoranesi Giovinco

+ 2 strikers

So my point is, let the kid play in a wide position but as a free player, something like Zidane in real. that makes place for DC´s pace and crooses also.

But first he must show, he can play like against catania in other games also.
