I like :jvefan: # 7 for him since a lot of WC players have started using it. And I doubt that it will be :jvefan: #10 since Del Piero won't retire any time soon.
he will surely take number 10 after ADP retires wont he?

also i say let him finish the season at empoli so he can get some quality playing time. then after that he will be ripe for the picking

:flag2: will he be the new bandiera della juve?

perfect eventual replacement for Nedved...he's got the pace, the close control, the creativity, eye for goal....we r very lucky to have him

I think some people on this thread underestimate how important he will be to us.. Many posters have said lets get Diego n then bring in van der Vaart as a Neddy replacement while loan out Seba for another year just to get him ripe.. we just dont have the money or expertise to even get one of them, let alone both of them and i believe Seba will play a very important part in Juve next year. Its funny that i've been browsing a few non-juve forums n they r jealous as hell that we have him

this is extremely true he will be one of our main players in the near future. but i see that many of you forget that he is a forward and not a mid.

still we shouldn't unfairly pressurise him...i believe it would still be premature to make him solely in charge of the creative duties next season

Ranieiri To Call Back Giovinco At Almiron's Expense?

There are rumours in the peninsula that Juventus are looking to convince Empoli to return loanee Sebastian Giovinco early, and are prepared to give them back misfiring Argentine midfielder Sergio Almiron in exchange.

Giovinco, who is considered one of the most promising young players to have come out of Italy in the past few years, grudgingly joined Empoli during the summer to gain experience, and his subsequent performances for the Italy Under-21 as well as his adopted club have gone a long way towards proving that he is already ready for the big time.

Almiron, on the other hand, has floundered in Turin, which some are saying has convinced Ranieri to strongly consider sending him back to the place where he made his name.

While Giovinco would doubtlessly be delighted to be back at Juve in January already, Almiron would almost certainly be less enthused. Truth be told, he won’t have much of a choice of Empoli agree to reverse the temporary swap deal.

However, the reports of a possible transfer reversal need to be taken with a grain of salt unless some factual information emerges. Especially when one considers Ranieri’s last public comments in this regard, which were made barely over a week ago and seemed pretty straightforward.

"I wouldn't make an Almiron-Giovinco exchange," said the Juve coach after the pint-sized striker inspired Empoli to victory over them in the Coppa Italia.

"If I did so, I would not be giving too many opportunities, as he would only train with us, and this wouldn't be good for him."

We need another option besides Giovinco, so I don´t see why we shouldn´t sign Van der Vaart. And Giovinco is not a forward nor a left winger. Get that into your heads.

I have question about Almirion-Gio exchange, are we going to loan Almirion to Empoli or release him to Empoli?

It would be so stupid to give him to Empoli for a player who we already own.

bringing him back would be a big mistake imo, keep him at empoli where he is getting playing with decreased media attention. Then we bring him back at the summer and we bit by bit he will get playing time.

Also i agree with Mark, getting gio back shouldn't mean we will not bring in van der vart. We simply can't put that much pressure on the kid.

if we don't deal with his development in the right manner then i see a miccoli case all over again

I think it's reasonable that Giovinco will enefit more by playing at Empoli till the end of this season but is that what he wants ? He said he wants to come back to Juve and not accepting him back may be sending the wrong signal .

since they have changed manager he has been starting for them and doing well
Thanks to Alberto Malesani who wants all the best for Giovinco and Juventus, even though he knows the player is there only temporary. What a great guy that Malesani is. :toast:

Giovinco will repay him by saving Empoli from relegation. :p
