It just doesn't make sense to me how someone could not welcome a talented player because they 'hate them' for external reasons.

For example, I hate Tevez, but I'd still welcome him here.

I don't think he is a bad footballer but I don't think he is anything special. I don't like him because of his ass attitude especially towards Juve warranted or not, it's just disgusting.
