During the 1980's the US experienced the shopping mall phenomenon where they began popping up all over the country. Teens of varrying ages would often find themselves seeking excitment during the weekends at malls. They would offer an array of activities that would range form movies cinemas, arcades, extravigant food courts and restaurants, such as Chuckie Cheese*, and a forum for which youths could express themselves by gaining freedom from their domestic lives and be themselves.

One might find similarities between the shopping mall and the Giovinco thread. Here you also find teens trying to seek ways to express themselves on a forum, where activity increases exponentially on the weekends.

This is the place to be on the weekends.
