keep the microman....give him time and he may come good.

He appears to have a collection of skills. Blood him like Lennon/Rooney and he may turn out to be just as good.

He does have to make up for his physical limits bybeing EXTREMELY talented on the ball, becuase he is one little fella. At least fellow micromen like Maradona had a bit of weight on him....Seba looks like a girl especially with the bender eyebrows.

He is actually that bird from Vendetta.

If Barca were to loan Messi two years ago they would certainly end with a different player from the one they have today.

Lets put an end to this youngster loan policy, I believe we have killed enough talent to realize how bad it is.

Barca also squandered Ricardo Quaresma, so it goes both ways.
For us it seems to only work one way, and that is losing quality youngsters due to inept and rather careless management of those players. We've been loaning all sorts of young players out for years and I don't remember even one of those loaned players becoming a quality player with Juventus. Something here is not working and all indications lead to this stupid loaning system. We need to amend this foolishness once and for all.

Miccoli became good but he couldn't play for us cuz that would mean Del Piero on the bench. (please don't say he is crap cuz few yrs ago we all were saying for he is an excellent player)

Juventus isn't in the business of giving chances. We are in the business of winning. When Giovinco has done enough to earn a spot on our roster, then he will get his chance. In the mean time we don't owe any youngster anything. Not even chances.

how can he earn a spot if he's not given a chance?
and before you say loan him out to Cesena or a midtable Serie A club, do you think that level of challenge will benefit a promising player that is expected to play at the highest level?

He's right though.

I mean, what has Giovinco done thus far in the senior squad? Played 15 minutes of great ball. This season we've often got 15 minutes of great ball out of Boumsong in a given match many of times, only to see him fall apart for 10 minutes and cost the club points.

While I agree he seems like a promising talent, let's not kid ourselves. 15 minutes of fame is hardly a reliable scouting report.

He is 21 years old. This is the serie. We need to sometimes detach ourselves from our passions and understand that potential needs to be groomed, not put on a pedastool. A lot of youngster look really good. Let them grow. Giovinco is one of my favorite young players. I love his game. He just is not ready and throwing him into top flight football is not going to pay off for him or us right now. Sorry. Those are the cold hard facts. I don't like them either.

Giovinco didn't become this famous suddenly, Didier didn't use him for nothing, and specially at a time when we needed to score a goal. Sure he is not a star yet, but 15 minutes can be enough sometimes to see a player's talent.

it's not the only that dribbling or the pass that made me like him, I saw the hunger in him, he was running like a crazy to prove himself, to be part of this team, that's a plus next to his skills!!

That's why we never develop young players to play in our squad. When you want to develop players you have to give them chances and take risks. If you don't trust them, don't give them chances and just loan them in numerous loan/co-ownership deals through the whole country, they will fail. We have seen this often enough. Other teams take risks and give young players chances. With better results.

Obviously he has done enough to get chances. He performed outstandingly for the primavera, he used his chance against Bologna, apparently against Liege and against that other club yesterda-

After our many years of success. I doubt, we will lower our standards at your request. Giovinco is awesome and I am convinced he will earn his opportunities. There is no such thing as luck. Other players we loan out "fail" because of themselves. Not because of Juventus.

If Giovinco is truly as great as his potential shows, he will earn his chance slowly but surely. Juventus isn't American Idol of soccer. A lot of young players make us excited. The fact of the matter is that not many of these young players reach their full potential because they lack the true qualities they need to possess. By GIVING away chances, we are not doing anyone any good. We aren't even teaching these youngsters the right lessons.

I am convinced Giovinco will play for the Juventus Serie A squad sooner or later, and he will do it based on his own hard work, dedication and loyalty. Not because we took a chance on him. We gave him a great opportunity already by letting him into our club. Now it is HIS turn. And no matter how much his 15 minutes aroused you, it is still far from enough time, he is still mentally far from where he needs to be to play Serie A football.

That is not necessaryly true. We have a terrible record of developing talents. That's why our system of developing talents has to be discussed. You are completely ignoring that.

You obviously don't understand how I (and to my understanding the other posters that demand chances for youngsters) use the phrase "give a chance". To "give a chance" doesn't mean to give playing chances randomly to any youngster. If somebody shows promise you have to take look whether he can show that talent with the big guys. To see that you have to "give a chance" to him, for example, you let him train with the senior squad. If he takes that step successfully, you give him more chances (for example you include him in friendly matches, you give him playing time as a sub in later stages of a competetive match etc.). That's what Deschamps is doing so far and that's exactly the way to develop talents.
