Obviously I'm stoked that we wrapped up consecutive titles, but from an outsider's point of view, European football has been a bore this season

I disagree. Just because the end result was the same does not mean that the competition was the same. Besides, only the champions of the top leagues were the same, not so for the rest of the table.

Granted its not uncommon to have teams win consecutive titles in their respective leagues, twice in a row is common enough but in the long run everyone likes a little competition to make winning all the sweeter.
