I can't remember last time we were 3rd. We went from finishing 2nd behind Rangers in the early 90's to being shite.

The first season I clearly recall was when Aberdeen stayed up in the playoff v Dunfermline.

I would think so. I was at the Aberdeen game and we were worse than hearts were against hibs.

I'll be at the game anyway. I'll just get tanked up before the game, that always makes it seem more exciting.

nice to see Craigy G get a clean sheet on his debut, will do him the world of good. gonna be interesting to see how he adapts to being britains most expensive keeper
Anderson not even on the bench, should have stayed. Let that be a lesson to Dons player who leave for the the 'big time'.

works both ways man, remember that aberdeen had much more money than any other club in scotland outside the old firm. for years they managed to poach player away from other clubs.

few years back a young hearts fan came through the ranks, became a first team regular and a bit of a hero with the fans. when he announced he was gonna let his contract run out and go ona free transfer we were saddened. when he explained he wanted to go and play in england and really test himself, improve himself as a player and enhance his chances of playing for scotland we understood and gave him a good send-off. when scott severin then popped up at aberdeen its fair to say we were all pissed.

    works both ways man

I know. I don't seriously grudge Anderson his move on the basis that Aberdeen got a fair price for him. We just offered more money than anyone else for Seve which, unfortunately almost always will be the decisive factor.

    Feeling confident about tomorrow?
depends which hearts team turns up really, will we actually play our best players? can see this being a 1-1 game with both teams settling for a draw with about 15 minutes to go for fear of losing both their opening games

Quite possibly. I just can't see either side actually creating chances so goals are likely to be from defensive mistakes or set pieces.

Tango sounds desperate already, word is he might start with Brewster.

They're showing live coverage of the scottish league this time around on a channel here.Anyone recommend any good games other than the Celtic Rangers ones?

P.S.Last time i checked, the scottish PL doesnt have 20 teams.I dont remember the actual number, but its less than 20 as far as i remember. So how does the season go forward? Are there fewer games than the other leagues around europe,or do the teams play each other more than twice?

with the exception of the opening day game, teh edinburgh derby is usually a thrill-a-minute rollercoaster. pretty much all the teams here have had to rely on youth the last few years and it is paying dividends, so tehre are quite a few good young players lurking here.

as for the league,......well.its pretty stupid

every team plays in the usual round robin fashion, except there are 3 games instead of 2, the league then splits in 2 and the top 6 play each other while the bottom 6 play it out. should mean that end of season games are tighter and edgier, with more on the line but is a bit of a farce

Aberdeen games are terrible, avoid them like the plague.

The whole league is of a poor standard, there is no way I would watch any games if I didn't support a team in the league.

Do Hearts have an "outisider's" chance of nicking it this season?

What about the success story of Gretna? At the current rate they've been going at the past 4-5 years they should win the treble this year :D

Hearts have no chance of the league, on the basis of their first two games. They are poor and have very little creativity.

Brooks Mileson, the guy who put the money into Gretna, isn't investing as much as he did in the past, so they didn't really strengthen in the summer and will be relegated this season, good riddance to them.

what he said, hearts injury list is horrendous already. the major annoyance is that all our good forwards are out, we lack creativity at teh moment but you never know. however title winners?i have more chance of shagging heather locklear

Yes, you never know! I don't really follow the SPL - haven't done for a while - but I dislike the "bigot brothers" so I like to see the other teams beat them.:D
