I read several books on this subject and I particulary liked one argument:

"If Hitler and his nazi ideals had never existed, naziism could have been allowed a gradual increase to the extent that it would have grown so slowly, mankind would have accepted it by getting used to it; allowing naziism to exist and expand further and further. One can only imagine what a 21st century world would look like with naziism as a socially acceptable phenomenon that conquered the minds of most people through time."

That's debatable. Many historians believe the USA were launched on their path to become a superpower by the first World War, which left the traditional European powers exhausted and crumbled.

one good thing that hitler well was after the treaty of versaile (dont quote me on that spelling) in germeny during the 1920's there was discontented people, hign unemployed and very high inflation and hitler changed that. he employed the poor to build the first motorways, new buildings and the olympic stadium that was used to hold the 1936 olympics in germany and to show the world how good germany was. he did take germany out of its depression. but btw i am not a supporter of him.

Hitler was a man with alot of neurosis, however he was a tactical genious, but he broke the first rule of the book: Dont stumble over won battles until youve won the war.

Hitler.. he had many good qualities. But he had petty hates he couldnt get rid of, ie the Jews.

Actually, from what I heard/read of him, he was a very poor army leader, hence not a tactical genious, but actually a tactical liability. He spread out his forces too thin, refused to allow his forces to retreat, etc. I cnat remember all of it know, but I remember seeing it in an in depth documentary about him.

Wow. Thats not the impression I got from my history teacher. I suppose he must of been more of a figure head.

that among others. Im not a Hitler expert, but one can see without a doubt that he had good qualities like his speech ability and his determination to get to the top, as we can see he was a bum then chancellor of Germany.

Oh, when it comes to motivating his forces or uniting the nation against the enemy and running the country under his ideology he was brilliant. But not actually leading the army in the battle and planning the war. Lucky for him he had good generals.
