Sad day today for Italian football. Sandro Ciotti has passed away at the age of 75. He was Italy's most famous radio commentator, and his soar voice was recognisable from millions.

Great commentator and analyst of the game, his voice will be missed on Sunday afternoons

It's quite sad for all of us who had the pleasure to hear him commentate games, especially 10 years ago and before, when league games where only possible to hear on the radio.

True that his voice was hard to understand cos of the soarness, still he was the best radio commentator ever.

I know most of you won't care cos you never heard of him outside of Italy, but in Italy you can practically say he was the Agnelli of radio commentators.

Respect to a guy that commentated over 2,400 football matches, 15 Giri D'Italia, 9 Tour de France, around 10 each of Olympics and World Cups and 40 San Remos in his long career.
