But when he's not doing those things it's like we're playing short in midfield... we get overrun. He's great when complemented by other good midfielders, but when he's playing next to Asamoah or Lemina our midfield becomes so passive.

You think he will look bad in the CL? I really dont get your logic. Its not like he didnt do well for Germany in International tournaments and also for Madrd. We were overrun today nut he still could have had a goal or two and played fairly well. He needed to have someone behind him that was more defensive but thats not to cover for some fatal flaw
