I just came to a realisation that he's probably one of the most decorated players atm. Won domestic titles in Germany, Spain and Italy.

1 x World Cup winner
1 x Champions League winner
1 x EURO U21 winner
1 x Spanish Champion
1 x Bundesliga Champion
3 x Italian Champion
3 x Coppa Italia
Khedira just happened to be fortunate enough to be a part of those teams.

Of course he won all those titles because he was awesome. It had nothing to do with the fact that those were monster squads and Khedira just happened to be fortunate enough to be a part of those teams.
:agree: Sami accidentally started playing for Stuttgart and even accidentally won the Bundesliga with them. A couple years later Sami was accidentally signed by Real Madrid then accidentally started for Real Madrid while winning a bunch of stuff. After leaving Real he again was accidentally signed by Juventus and somehow accidentally still starts for Juventus while winning quite a lot. Don't even get me started on accidentally being picked by Germany for years winning the World Cup. Lucky Sami.

I honestly couldn’t remember anyone moaning the day he signed on a free.

Untouchable. Seriously, everyone who thinks he is more than a free-rider for us in the last several seasons is fucking delusional.
What a waste of space and air this guy is. The most expensive waste..

Don't embarrass yourself, even Dai admits Sami is our weakest link
Embarrassing myself is something I'm incapable of. I'll but it down to some weird social disregard.

When it comes to Sami I'm not against us playing others instead of him, but at the same time I understand how far from the objective truth some views regarding him on this site are. Just adding a bit of balance to a very one sided discussion.

This is not balance but a blissful ignorance to an objective reality. Trump style.

I did for sure, he looked fairly finished at end in Real in absolute top level impact. Played in the same serviceably experiened but completely underwhelming fashion one expected him to really.

I am very split over Khedira.

On one hand, he doesn't press a lot anymore and he's a passenger in a lot of matches. His technique and off the ball movement are good but they can't justify being carried around most of the times.

One the other hand though, his calmness, experience and "arrogance" can be an asset in top games. He's one of the most decorated players in our team. He's a winner and he doesn't crumble when facing anyone. He has won the world cup as an important part of the team, he has faced Xavi and Iniesta at their best and he carries this self entitled attitude, only the top players do. There are matches that a lot of our players looked shocked and scared and Khedira tries, almost by himself, to make something happen. One of the most recent such matches is last year's home game against Real.

So, it seems that in Khedira's case experience and mindset is what we value. And looking in our midfield, there is none else having even close to the experiences and honours that Khedira brings to the team.
