Well, he is not going anywhere whatever we want to sell sux, what we want to buy goes stellar...

Extending his contract would be the dumbest idea ever.
No better option really, better to tie him with the hope to sell him, or keep him for depth and avoid getting a new Sturaro

having Khedira on as the RCM and Kimmich as the RB was a really bad fit for the Germans, I don't think Low should start them together. the speed at which Mexicans made the transition was impressive, but often their guys on the left side outran German guys on the right side at a ridiculous difference, in the first half it looked as if Germany didn't give a shit enough to back track at all

he's done very well to be a starter for Juve, Madrid and Germany. Just isn't an enjoyable player to watch. I wonder if he didn't have such am annoying face would he be liked more.

difference is at juve in the 4231, the fullbacks and Mandzu and Cuads would have raced to track back and help out

dont think draxler, muller and the fullbacks even walked back into their own half

What's with Khedira going forward so much in 4231? At Juve he does the same and even Allegri complained about this like once or twice.
Even as a DM he was never the anchor man type, well timed runs from deep have always been a part of his repertoire. When done properly he could end up in open space, between the lines, with the ball. Sometimes even if he doesn't touch the ball he forces the opposition to move slightly out of position to deal with him. For example, review the highlights of semi final in 2014 to see how effectively his runs from deep were used to create a number of 4v3s or 4v4s that ended up resulting in goals. Brazilian midfielders weren't in position to deal with him going forward forcing their defense out of position or leave him completely open at the top of the box.

Whether it be focus or his physique the timing isn't quite right anymore..

sami decides to attack, nobody steps back to his place, sami loses the ball, mexico counters the shit out of germany:

unlucky sami.
Absolutely poor defending from the entire team, as Hummels pointed out correctly.

"We played like against Saudi Arabia, it's just that this time the opponent was stronger."

You guys never learn. No matter how bad those stats are Allegri will play Khedira. He's simply in love with that guy.
His stats looked rather good this season, no?

And for the 1000st time - it's not about him being in love with him, but about what alternatives he's got on the bench.

passing: fine, goals: beyond any reasonable expectation. his defending stats though... terrible.

yesterday it wasn't only him who didn't contribute enough to defending, and it showed: mexico led 6 counters. these stats speak volumes:
