Sagnol is undoubtedly an upgrade to Zebina in pretty much every aspect of the game...obviously a good move to secure the services of Free Willy.

Juventus deny Sagnol deal

Juventus have dismissed reports that they have already signed Bayern Munich’s Willy Sagnol – but have hinted a deal is imminent.

The French international is said to have agreed to a four-year stint with the Italian giants once his contract at Bayern expires in the summer.

However, Luciano Moggi insists nothing has been agreed even if he seemed to confirm that Sagnol would be heading to Turin.

"Sagnol is an excellent defender, one who interests us," the director general is quoted as saying. "However, we still haven’t signed him yet."

The right-back, also linked with Valencia and Manchester United, is expected to replace Jonathan Zebina in the side next term.

The latter, plagued by injury so far this season, is expected to be sold after he requested a new improved contract.

Meanwhile, Juventus have also ruled out a move for Antonio Cassano in the January transfer market.

Associated with the Turin giants seeing as his contract expires in the summer, the Bianconeri insist they have no need for any more attackers.

"Cassano is a Roma player who is going through a very delicate situation, therefore I don’t really want to touch this theme," chief operating officer Antonio Giraudo said on Monday.

"All I will say it that Cassano is a great player, but we have a complete attack. We already have great champions and our attacking options are very competitive."
