You seriously think Russia can't fuck up all Europe economically wise?

Prices went insanely high over the past 6 months due to gas prices and they haven't even tried hard to do it. They would obliterate the whole industry.
Well what do you do? Nothing? Deploy troops?

The timing with the pipelines is horrible for Europe. The Netherlands has one of the biggest gas fields, but they’ll have to close over time as they’re causing (small) earthquakes.

But honestly I wasn’t expecting this decision.
I don't want to be too insensitive about fuel prices, but if your choices are save a few bucks now and bend over for Putin or pay through the nose for the next couple of years while telling him to f*k off, I'd say the latter is a much better option and investment.

The good thing about ridiculous prices is that it's a great motivator to find alternates. The worst thing that can happen to climate change is cheap gas.

So Nordstream 2 was one of the major issues as far as the US is concerned?
Some would argue that the US concerns were primarily all about Nordstream 2, and that's the game they were playing: don't let Germany and Europe grow closer to Russia, and keep the market open for US gas.

Rug pulls are the term used by those who buy at the top and don’t know when to take profits.
And if things get really serious, they can bust out the gorilla jpegs. God bless the 21st century.

Is pump and dump a better fit in this case then? :D

I see no solution that does no harm. I think it's easy to say sanctions, which we might see indeed, but I'm just saying it's gonna crumble. You know how they say, when two elephants fights it's usually grass that's fucked up.
yeah, the real solution would be to bomb where Putin stays but then that would piss off China

Unfortunately we're well past the point of there being no harm anymore.
