Rules re: insulting loaned/co-owned players (2 Viewers)

Should the forum rules protect loaned/co-owned players from insults?

  • Yes, they belong to Juve whether they currently play for us or not

  • No, if they're not part of our squad, they're not considered Juventus players.

This place is by no means a democracy :p but I'm posting this to get a general feel for people's opinions about loaned/co-owned players.

At this point, the rules are interpreted to mean that only players who are currently with the team are covered by the rules, but controversy has been stirred in the past few weeks, especially in the Giovinco thread.

So what do you guys think? We can't simply pick and choose which players are covered because there would be constant complaints, so the rules have to cover the Tiagos, Amauris and Criscitos too.

------------------------------------------

Here's our decision:

  • Loaned/co-owned players are not given the same kind of protection as those who are actually in the squad.
  • BUT spamming and trolling won't be tolerated. Warnings will be given, followed by infractions. This is up to the mods' discretion.
  • There are no exemptions for players loaned to us like Borriello and Giaccherini. As long as they wear the shirt, they're Juventus players.

If we decide that we can't insult co-owned/loaned players because they are still Juve players, then I can insult Borriello since he's not a Juve player, but a Roma player.

I would like to make a distinction between whether they are co-owned and play for us versus co-owned and play for an opponent, but maybe that's shaving hairs a bit too much.

It's a sad thing when there's a poll about whether to insult a player or not. You'd come to expect that a civilized forum would discourage such behaviour by default.

You know my answer.

Btw, will Delpie insults be tolerated next season?
Of course. Despite the fact that it was the club that wished he wasn't here anymore(as is the case with all loans/co-owns), he's not playing for Juventus anymore. Therefore anyone who insults him cannot and will not be dealt with under the forums rules. And if you insult him, you'll get an infraction for abusing another member.

Logically we shouldn't! They are our players.. But it would mean we can't insult the likes of Giovinco and Amauris. So Fuck NO! Let us insult, but not exaggerate..

Good question.. If we can insult Zidane, Platini, Baggio or any other Juve legends, then yes. My opinion? We shouldn't insult any of them, unless they disrespect the club..

This is really a pain in the ass. I don't understand why some of you are so touchy, these players are not your mothers you know? Who cares if someone insults them??

the shirt is his second skin, of course not Matthew.
But this is exactly why we need to be clear in the way we interpret the rules. There will always be people who disagree if we decide these things on a case by case basis.

If we're going to say that insulting anyone who's not a Juventus player is ok, then that has to include Del Piero too, otherwise it's just hypocritical. Of course he's a legend and there isn't a Juventino on the planet who would insult him, but consistency is the key here.

If you think it's ok to insult Giovinco and not Del Piero, what about Trezeguet? Davids? Camoranesi? One could argue that Albin Ekdal has more to do with Juventus than them.

How about: any player who is co-owned by Juve cannot be insulted regardless of where he plays?

What about their mothers? Or non-immediate family?
They don't play for Juve. We should be allowed to insult them.

the guidelines you guys have and are using are perfectly fine, I'm just here to participate in the democractic process.

anybody who is just randomly cursing them is just a troll, with midget boy there is due cause.

I don't see any reason why they wouldn't be.

I don't recall any limit on insults directed at Cannavaro, Thuram, Zambrotta and Ibrahimovic once they left Juve.

I would like to make a distinction between whether they are co-owned and play for us versus co-owned and play for an opponent, but maybe that's shaving hairs a bit too much.
If that not basically how it is just now?

Players that are at Juve are covered, while those who play for another team aren't.

All the causes mentioned by those trolls are stupid and baseless. It stems from personal bias and hatred rather than a genuine reason. If I look back enough, I can find a justifiable reason to insult DP once his contract expires and he joins another club. It'll mean you lot will need to shut up while I insult him. You think any of this makes sense?

Please. Let's just end this stupid debate.

that is merely your opinion, with which many disagree.

as for DP, I find it hard to believe any Juve fan could insult him, but even then that is ultimately the mod team's call.
