People act as if Drenthe is worse then Pepe and Martinez, as if he would be a liability in our team. I am positive if he came here he would probably walk into our starting 11 which is pretty shitty at the moment.

I say go for it. This guy has loads and loads of talent. We should take the risk and if we end up being the team that makes him use his talent properly then we could have a great player in our hands. Also, he can cover for two positions and as CalcioJuventus says he's easily better than Pepe and Martinez. Good price aswell.

If we aren't going to get some better players there is nothing wrong with loaning him. As most of you said he is better than all left side players LM's & LB's we currently have. (maybe excluding Giovinco)

Drenthe has a lot of talent, he just need more playing time.
He's actually a similar case to Giovinco..

and I still remember he was even more impressive then Seba in the Toulon U21 Tournament back in 2007 (or 2008? I forgot..) Basically he's doing every thing on the left side for the Holland U21.

I am not sure about our transfer budget.. but I am quite sure that a loan deal with option to buy with 5-7m would be a good deal. He can be a fine backup for both LB and LM and he can't be worse than what we have anyway. And we got the upside potential of him.

He can be for us like what Robben is for Munich. He can beat his man and offers alot of pace on the counter attack. People say he does not have a football brain but he is not a playmaker, he is a winger and I think the fact he would give us alot of runs down the left and penetration would be really good. By beating his man he would creat alot of chances for our strikers. That is something we will never get from Pepe or Martinez who dont usually take ppl on one on one.

I would way rather spend like 8 million on a 23 year old Drenthe then like 25 Million on Vargas. Also the bonus of playing Drenthe at Left wing is we would be less exposed then if we played Giovinco there. At least Drenthe is somewhat capapable of defending (though not good enough to be LB).

Drenthe and Krasic on the wings would give us reason to be optimistic.

We should get Bocchetti as he can player LB, RB and CB. He always impresses me with his composure and I think Genoa would sell him. Although he is not great at going forward but if we do end up getting Drenthe then it would allow him to go forward uninhibited and do the most damage. Also with DC we would have a fullback we can bring on who can get up and join attacks.

-----------Diego-----Trez-------------
Drenthe---Marchisio---Melo---Krasic
Bocchetti--Chiellini--Bonucci---Motta
----------------Gigi------------------

I dont think we can sign Dzeko without losing Diego so I think Krasic at RM would be good. the thing is I dont see us putting out a starting 11 without either pepe or martinez as they would be a big waste of money and make the club look dumb for signing them. Anyway we will see what happens. Key thing is Drenthe would be be a big boost to us if we can get him.

Definitely agree, i would prefer loan this guy (1m with option to buy 6-7m) rather than splash 25m on Vargas. And why people don't think about the case of Esteban Cambiasso.. He is nothing at RM and they release him on free to Inter and the rest of story you already know..

And about Drenthe has a better u-21 and Toulon tournament than Giovinco, that's right. He has better youth career than Giovinco for me, but he destroy it by going to RM to soon. So if people here say Gio can be a great player based on his youth career so why don't give a chance to this Drenthe too

Personally I would rather have someone that can score rather than someone that can produce opportunities for strikers notorious for missing sitters.

But that's just me.
Count me in as well!

Well said!

IMO, splashing cash on Dzeko means Drenthe on loan is Marotta’s plan.

He’s a good midfielder. Awful full-back.

Drenthe, Martinez, Lanzafame and Pepe.

Pacey wingers, but somehow clueless at the final third.
I think you meant clueless wingers and awesome in the final third.
