Hector Cuper has used humour to hit back at the constant criticism coming from former Inter man Ronaldo.
“I think Ronaldo loves me really,” smiled the Coach. “If a person continually talks about you then it must be love.”
The tactician was publicly blamed for Ronaldo’s decision to leave the San Siro and he has continued to point this out in several different interviews.
Over a year after joining Real Madrid, Il Fenomeno refers back to his unhappy time under Cuper.
“I didn’t have fun at Inter when he was in charge,” said Ronaldo this week. “I am enjoying myself now.”
This week he also told newspapers that he wanted Real Madrid to sign old Nerazzurri teammate Christian Vieri and fellow Brazilian Rivaldo.
The latter is now a distinct possibility, as the World Cup winner rescinded his contract with Milan and is a free agent.
