Well we seem to be a lot more organized, our finances are fairly solid and we don't rely on loans as much. But that doesn't mean we're gentler, kinder.. :undecide:

Ie. Roma is the guy that breaks into your house, steals your remote control but forgets about the tv and leaves his business card on the coffee table. Juve is the guy who rips you off without you knowing what happened and the FBI have no clues.

;)
:rofl::rofl::rofl:...

LoL...hehhehe:cheesy:

Mexes move gets go-ahead
Thursday, 2 September 2004

AS Roma have received international clearance from FIFA for the signing of Philippe Mexes from AJ Auxerre - but the defender will not be able to make his competitive debut until 24 October due to a suspension from world football's governing body.

Contract dispute
The 22-year-old French international agreed a four-year deal with the Italian side in June while still under contract at Auxerre. Mexes claimed he was able to move for €4m citing a clause in his Auxerre contract, but the French club disputed that fact.

FIFA ruling
His case was referred to FIFA, who today gave the transfer international clearance but suspended Mexes for six weeks for unilateral breach of contract, starting on 12 September - the day Roma begin their Serie A campaign at home to ACF Fiorentina.

Decision pending
FIFA's dispute resolution chamber will decide how much compensation is owed to Auxerre by Mexes, and is also investigating the roles of both Roma and a players' agent in the breach.

Mexes suspension
Roma have announced they will appeal the ban to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, but if they are unsuccessful Mexes will miss the first three UEFA Champions League matchdays, ruling him out of the opening home game against FC Dynamo Kyiv on 15 September and subsequent trips to Real Madrid CF and Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Possible debut
Mexes, who is not in the France squad for this week's FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Israel and the Faroe Islands, will be available for Roma when they welcome US Città di Palermo on 24 October, and his Champions League bow could come at home to Leverkusen on 3 November.

This sounds a bit better: Mexes was in the right about the contract clause. This is FIFA's say on the matter at any rate. So why punish him? Surely Auxerre should be fined for their breach of contract?

I had said this many months ago, but there is no way that FIFA or FIGC will allow Rome to only have one team in Serie A.

Never happen. As much as they probably deserve it, it won't happen due to off the pitch circumstances.

They'll need to actually be a horrible team in order to get demoted, and that doesn't look like it will happen, not with quite possibly the best collection of young talent in all of Europe.

Well fine, keep them up in the Serie A, but don't let them have potential world class players for free. :groan:

Its the entitlement you receive being the main club in one of football's heartlands.

Its the way it is. We can take heart in the fact that Juve does things the right way. Sorry, but I wouldn't sacrifice my team's dignity for the sake of getting one more world class player in our ranks.

I wonder how Roma fans feel about worshiping one of the most corrupt teams in football.
