I'm not 100% sure but i think he was the one who lost his marker (Palladino?) and Buffon had to make a save, also was pretty weird to see him just walking near the end instead of running and making available for the pass like Matuidi. :boh:
Had some nice controls and tidy passes tho.

What is negative space?
Well basically, it's like playing a ball into an already covered player in order to draw a defender to that player, which then opens up some other spaces. For example, Higuain was coming really deep and there was a man pretty tight. But Bentancur was playing the ball to his feet anyway and Higuain was one touching it back. The result was Higuain's marker was sprinting to pressure Higuain and leaving some other space unoccupied.

It's like baiting defenders around the field which is something our CMs rarely do because it can backfire easily. It requires a lot of calm and technique.

Really hope to see more of him in serie a matches with Khedira and Marchisio's questionable fitness at the moment. Hoping he really does well from the get go so we have more midfield cover
