i'd be a rockstar. when you make a hit movie, there's a fuss that lasts not more than a month, then everything cools down, then you wait to film another movie, then everything all over again. that's a cool profession too, but i thiunk a musician is far more interesting/excinting. a rockstart makes a hit album, than for the first month he's doing interviews, tv-shows, than goes on a 10-month tour to promote the album, sees all kinds of places, people...moviestars do some of those things too, but for me it's a rockstar, cause that more suits my personality, i don't like piece and quiet, in fact i can't stand it, i must do something always. :D

I'd have to go for the movies here, because I do act (mainly in theatre) and of course every actor's dream is to make it big someday. Small-time acting is hardly a well-paying profession and I'd very much want to do someting I love for a living.

As Confucius once said, find a job you like and you'll never have to work a day in your life.

That's fantastic Don Des. Off late, I myself have had this urge to work as an actor in some capacity, although I think movies and television would be more down my alley than stage plays. The thought of a live audience isnt very soothing to my nerves. :)

Isnt it ironic, that acting isnt really about acting, its about being yourself within the confines of a situation?

For me stage acting is always the first step, you emerge from every production a stronger actor and if you have stage presence, screen presence isn't an issue. Of course it's infinitely harder since you don't have any retakes and every every performance is literally make or break, but it's much more satisfying.

How much of yourself is allowed to come through when you're acting is usually dependent on the amount of creative freedom the director gives you; as you move along directors are usually more willing to let you do your thing rather than dictate your role too strictly. Also its down to the script; that's where you have to find the balance between "getting into character" and feeling the script yourself.

Evan Seinfeld has mastered this thing IMHO. He was a permanent face in 'Oz'. He's been doing hc with Biohazard for around 15 years .. and now he's doing hc with his wife Tera Patrick. Gotta admire the lad.
