We don't know for sure, but it's obvious he missed our main targets of Milito and Xabi Alonso. Those were our main transfer targets these past two years and we didn't get them, so that's a failure. Then you could possibly attribute the failures of Almiron, Tiago and others to him, although some of those players I hold Ranieri more responsible for.

definitely, i was very annoyed when we ruled out the signing of Van der Vaart, that still hurts. ranieri said he wasnt the kind of player for serie A, what? an attacking quality player? full of shit.

For me it is indeed Milito and Alonso and we did miss out on Milito where Alonso it has been announced over and over again that Ranieri chose Poulsen over him. I don't know what you would believe more, a quote or a goal.com bullcrap.

van der Vaart would actually help this team, unlike the signings we have made. Xabi would have helped this team, unlike the signings we have made. Deco and others would have helped too, but instead we apparently need another destroyer.

But whatever. I'm tired of debating this crap. If people want to play terrible football and rely on Del Piero and Camoranesi to do all the work offensively, fine.

Some of the same people who say we have enough creativity now and defend these transfers were some of the same people complaining throughout the past few seasons about how we have no ideas with the ball. Their former opinions will be rekindled pretty quickly this year, especially if one of our important attackers goes down.

I believe there are truths to these Xabi rumors because they were in all sorts of press, not only Goal.com or La Gazzetta, but also Liverpool press and perhaps even Pool FC Television. It's pretty obvious we were after him.

Ranieri himself either didn't want him and chose Poulsen instead (which would just be absolutely retarded) or he's lying about this whole ordeal to save his ass or the boards', or perhaps Pool decided to keep him in the end because they realize he's actually a great asset. Either way, we were after Xabi.

Where did I say we weren't after Xabi?

I said we were after Milito and Xabi .

We lost out on Milito.

We signed a player other than Xabi after request from the team coach.

That's what one would call losing out because of a stupid coach then.

No two ways about it - we need Xabi more than Poulsen.

I welcome Poulsen but I still think we need a creative midfielder and I don't like much this transfer.I'm not saying Poulsen is going to choke, hopefully he'll be succesful as Sissoko but as always I'm against 2 DMs.I agree with Andrew that we miss someone like van der Vaart or Deco to help out our middle and not to reley on Camo all the time and pray he doesn't get injured.

Also, say we'll give Giovinco a shot and that's why we aren't signing Xabi is like shooting in the dark.No one knows that, not even our coach.I,for one, don't think Gio is going to get many chances (sadly) as he will next year when Nedved retires.Sadly people already started panicing like we're going to Serie C4 next season.Cut that crap...I just hope we'll play normaly and without long balls.

And yes,I don't like transfer campaign so far.

If we don't field Giovinco, we're setting ourselves up for long balls naturally.

If we don't field Giovinco and have to use Poulsen and Sissoko in central midfield, you might as well dress us up in a Queens Park Rangers kit or tennis gear.

I never said the opposite, neither about Poulsen nor that Ranieri is stupid but to say that everything is a failure, we are a joke, Milan will rape us and all the other totally ignorant stuff is a bit far fetched. The second part of our last season (after Momo's arrival) we saw some nice football in a bunch of games, I am hoping we will continue in the same rhythm and at the same time I am not predicting anything until I see what will happen after the transfer season is over and after they play a few official games.

Salman, Vimo, a whole bunch of others. Just take a look at the Ranieri thread and Poulsen thread, among others, Jack.
Some are delusional, you know it and I know it, others are negative and some are just cautious. But there is one thing I am certain of, those who nag day in day out can do nothing about the situation, hoping for the better is much more powerful.

Personally, it's my opinion that the management is a joke. People saying we're going to get relegated are a joke too.

If we don't play like a Juventus team should, then yeah, I'll be a nagger and on peoples' nerves I suppose.
