Arsenal is in a bad place. RVP can play one more season for them and then walk for free next year. They have to sell him this year or get him a new contract. I dont think RVP is interested in that, so Arsenal must sell.

Being desperate to sell right now, 10m for a 29 yrs old player is not that bad! :klin:

considering how marotta has worked in the past: doesn´t an official offer to the club mean that we pretty much agreed terms with van persie already?

My thoughts exactly but who knows. But 10m to me is a good starting point to test the waters because like PieroKing mention above arsenal are in a very bad spot. Their is a lot of room for negotiations Say city don't offer a contract then what? In all honesty they have aguero, balo and tevez plus the bottom of the list Dzeko. Is RVP really going to start ahead of the first 3 players? RVP will be going into a rotation system and tbh if he does he's a fucking moron and doesn't deserve to win anything if money and less playing time is what he thinks is best for his career. I don't care if we sign him or not as I see it if we do awesome but under 20 million max 18 IMO. Otherwise a destro and a huge upgrade in the rw position for a 4-3-3 is fine with me.

I dont think so imo..His wage demands are too much and i dont think we'd be willing him to offer him such high wages..

Plus his agent spoke very badly about Serie A,i dont see how this move will materialize..Marotta is clearly trolling.

Good move by Marotta. Wenger should understand that RVP is top striker but not champion, because he have not won anything at Arsenal and want to be from top striker to champion. Wenger should accept it before say something about us.

Well, since Serie A is such a minor league -- according to Wenger -- 10M Euros would make him the biggest transfer in Lega Calcio history. :andyandbarcelona:

At least that's what I'd say if I were Marotta. ;)
