Only Nesta is a better defender out of that list..sure Rio is overrated but he is a top class defender thats undeniable.

Having said that i think 30M is too much for him..not to mention the fact that he's 30..and he'll probably get homesick and wont adapt to playing in another league in another country.

1) Give me one good reason why Man Utd would sell Vidic?

2) Gallas isnt a better defender than Ferdinand
I was merely replying to Cronios's question about better defenders in the 20m range.Gallas owns Ferdinand so bad,its not even funny.Ferdinand's concentration level is piss poor, while Gallas is more reliable, and as Gray mentioned, versatile.Ferdinand is an improvement over what we have, but if we have 20m to spend on a defender, then id have it spend on a great defender. Not an overrated one.

Which word exactly you consider "over-rated" in that post?

C'mon, admit it, you're just being a smartass, are you not?
Well, the fact that you already see him as a young Javier Zanetti and a starter in a strong Juve side makes the player overrated. Comprende? :p

I'm telling ju, we should stick with Andrade and Chiellini at CB for now.
Buy creativity!
The problem with Andrade is that he is unavailable. And who knows when will he be available and for how long?

Whats wrong with you?

Mexes and Mertesacker are not better yet, i have a feeling that we wont be allowed to buy them anyway.
Nesta is a fools dream...
Even if i accept the brazilian defender (lol) Lucio is a better player
( Coloccini a better player than Rio??? WTF??? )
, i dont think he is much cheaper and isnt any younger either:angel:
I was joking about Lucio....and I think Mexes is better....not Per yet, I agree with that.

I'd rather have Coloccini than River Ferdinand.

What is wrong with me? I tied my arm in a sock and smoked rock....

Mexes??? I think I play better than Mexes for real. If Mexes plays in Serie A, then I don't know what I'm doing playing with some shitty club.
I think that is because you are suffering from large penis disease and Zlatan doesn't want competition in Serie A.
I would prefer Ricardo Carvalho
What? Meathead, I think you are legally retarded.

Gallas does not own Ferdinand...all he has over Ferdinand is pace and versatility...Ferdinand has proven over the years he is the better defender..he is consistently one of the top Cb's in the EPL...the same cant be said about gallas..who has struggled to reproduce his Chelsea form with us..Ferdinand is better in the air..stronger physically..reads the game better.he is better than Gallas in almost every department in defence...Look at Man Utd's defensive record in the EPL and in europe..IMP Rio has a big say in that...and i personally rate him slightly higher than Vidic.

I like Rio, what a duo with Chiellini. Magnin would be an upgrade to Molinaro right?
you know i was gonna scream, set fire to myself and chain myself to the gates of juve's training ground in protest but then i thought about this. rio needs someone witha bit of fight, a bit of balls to complement him and giorgio needs someone who is calm on teh ball, assured enough to pass it and experienced.

this could actually prove to be a fantastic combination, plus we get rid of zebina into the bargain

ppl in this forum have the tendency to rate the player's potential, than the player's current skills:confused: we have so many "football manager"gamers here, they think that a player grows old within a season...

I agree that Rio is overall better than Gallas as a CB, but i have reasons to believe that Gallas could be a little more useful to us, because he can adapt easier to a non EPL type of football and he can cover more places in our weak defense.
In any case, Gallas is a lost cause, we had the opportunity to buy him and we wasted it...

Burke: i also share your hate on the over-rated EPL,for both players and teams ( i even hate their long ball type of football, their trademark) but i ve learned to respect some certain units, that IMO, going beyond the EPL hype. Rio is one of them, he has some quality, (though he is definitely not as good, as the EPL lovers make him to be), he is a player that would shine in every league or team, under some special conditions that would fit his gaming profile,
for ex in Italy, he would be most useful in games against Lazio. We should not over react and feed him to the dogs,he is not useless,he has some strong points, mostly appreciated in "Britannia"
Frenchies do better in Italy but i dont think that Mexes would do any better than Rio at ManU(re)

    No hurt feelings:heart:

good post..and i said before that i dont think Rio would be a good buy for Juve..and that he most probably wont adapt..He is better than Gallas as a CB..but i too think Gallas would be more suited for juve.
