Del Piero: Inter Being Disrespectful

maltasport.com 30 May 2007

Juventus skipper Alessandro Del Piero believes that Inter are being disrespectful by calling their Serie A title win the first 'clean' one in a while.

Inter's title celebrations have not been going down well with Milan and Juventus, with repeated remarks over the authenticity of their previous wins.

Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has hit out at the Nerazzurri a few days back, suggesting during an outburst that Milan were right to mock Inter over their ongoing 42 year wait for a Champions League.

The Rossoneri have been busy using their European triumph to get back, and following their promotion, Juventus also seem to have upped the ante.

Skipper Del Piero is leading his team's charge

"They [Inter] are really beginning to exaggerate with this continuing talk of 'stealing'," he said on 'Repubblica TV.’

"They are being very disrespectful towards us [Juventus], and others in Serie A."

He also reiterated the oft-repeated charge that Inter had won an 'easy' Scudetto thanks to the lack of competition.

"Inter had their work made easy for them," he said. "However, they did do well to make the most of their advantage."
