As for me Being a Libyan that has lived his life mainly in america and the latter in the middle east. I have seen the best of both worlds. But my main concern is the american motives here in the Middle East. It is fueled by Hungry oil tycoons who want to manipulate the people here against one another in order to suck us dry of the most precious resource. I really hope to see things settle down. But with this American Goverments Reason for comming here to rid the middle east of so called "Terrorists" and spread democracy. I am just not buying those lies as an excuse for them to reap and spread mayhem for the sake of material gains...

Please discuss this subject freely since i really would like to here viewpoints from everyone concerning this matter that effects everyones daily lives...

spreading democracy in middle east ? I remember algeria in early 90's when the FIS won the election by democratic mean, they were overthrown by people and countries who were advocacy for democraty (yes for democraty if and only we agree)

well as I am originaly from Irak, I have offcourse my view for this subject.
It is true that americans are searching for oil and want to remove all threats for Israel BUT, what did we have in Irak? we had a dictator who was boosted from USA and europe at the time of IRAK-IRAN war. but then they saw a danger in having him there.. so they decided to remove him. The people in Irak suffered under this dictator. the oil was only used for war and the interessts of Sadam Hussain. and nobody did anything against him. I mean nobody inside Irak tried to remove the regimme. only the Kurds (as I am) were able to free a part of the country from the regimme.
what happend now? The US may have it´s own advantage from the situation. but not only USA, I can tell you that alot of things changed, specialy from finacial point of view, a teacher for example, he was earning about 10 dollars a month at the time of Saddam Husain and now they get at least 200 dollars. belive it or not we have democray, in the past 30 years nobody was able to say anything bad about anybody from the regimme, and the basic rule of democray it having a free oppinion. The economy in Irak is booming, it is clear that it will take time before everything gets better, and the terrorists in Irak stop with their terror. But I am sure that everything will be much better in about 10 years.

Rep is still allowed bro for me bro.....as for Iraq... I have many iraqis and kurdish friends who share the same view as you. But the way america snaked its way into the middle east is just astonishing. How they cover up the bad thier doing to us here by justifing that terroists and islam is to blame.. Libya has its fair share of dictatorship. Qaddafi he is believed to have come to power with the help of the americans too. He has ruined our country and demolished our infrastructure, morale, and culture and society. I have never lived there since i am opposing his regime. I really wish that superpowers like america would just help and not suck our resources while trying to "spread democracy" They have the power to do whatever they like. But with this new bush presidency all we have seen is material gain and nothing diplomatic
