Juve all watched him last season, have the option to decide, and still want him :sergio: ... are there any scouts at all... and also didn't fight for Leoni, at least Leoni showed potential

Leoni scored a goal Veiga didn’t - so easy to spot

Haven’t seen Leoni other than the one game against Juve and that’s about it. But I guess it’s down to the fact that he’s 18 and Italian with only half a season under his belt. Veiga (eventough super young himself) is 4 years older - which is a lot in this age group.

yes it's a giveaway

the hype around leoni is insane though. he's talented but being ready for juventus is a different thing. at least veiga is mentally ready, he has proven it during his short spell here. and currently he is the better player too
Yeah I 100% agree with you - updated my post above. Guess it’s down to age and nationality.

Damn, I really wanted him back and I like him a lot and unlike some of our players it seemed he actually wanted to be here and wanted to play for us.

I liked his personality, and for the short time he was here he did seem attached to the club. Wouldn’t have minded him back, just not for 30M. He’s got potential, sure, but still Chelsea’s 6th choice defender.

Crazy how that club always manages to inflate their players’ prices, and it works every time.

Fucking Chelsea just made €8m profit in one year on a player they loaned out for 6 months
I mean this is a huge issue in football right now. A few clubs can just stock up on talents, loan them out for a season or two and then sell them on for profit. We need regulation around this. Limiting how many players you can bring in per season for instance. The real losers here are Villareal who didnt sign him 12 months ago for €22m and instead splashed €30m now

This transfer annoys me so much because I wanted Veiga to join us on a permanent this summer. And heck he might even be worth €30m by now. But I just didnt expect anybody (Villareal of all) to make that big offer. It would make sense for Juve to sign him for a fee similar to what Chelsea spent last summer. The waiting until the end of the window is starting to fuck us hard
