In 1998-99 the attendance was 47.164. But in 1999-00 it was only 42.229 and in 2002-03 it was 39.771.

Last season the attendance was only 34.365. Why are the attendance falling so much??

Very hard to say, maybe it has something to do with the players on the team, in 98 Del Piero was awesome, ZIdane too.

Guys, check these numbers out. They are the max capacity for each team's stadium.

FC Barcelona - 98,000
AC Milan - 85,700
AS Roma - 82,307
Real Madrid - 74,634
Stadio delle Alpi - 71,012
FC Bayern München - 69,060
Manchester United - 68,174
Future Arsenal Stadium - 60,000
Stadio Comunale - 49,491
Liverpool FC - 45,000
Chelsea - 42,449
New Juve - 40,500
Arsenal - 38,500

Err, we got a smaller stadium than Liverpool? We should have a stadium atleast with 60,000 with no track! That way, we get higher capacity as well as the closer atmosphere that we all want.

NOTE KIDS - It won't feel so close and english, when the plexiglass walls are put in between you and DP and the boys!

It doesn't matter for me if it was 40000 or 60000. What I want is that when I watch Juve on TV I want to see the stadium full and alive.

Compare the atmosphere of any other match in Serie a with Juve's home games and you will no why...

I remember that the last time the Delli Alpi was full it was the Real M game and that was a real game with a real crowed( they were real juve fans not a group of tourists who had to come to the match as a part of the trip)

Course you don't care. You will watch the game at home and never come to Italy and truly gaze at the beauty of a live football match. For the rest of us who will be seeing live matches, it sucks. It sucks a lot.

On another note: Phillip00 link showed that we maybe selling out to companies like AOL, putting their name on the stadium. Can someone confirm this? If so, WHO?

yeah, right. why would you care? you don't have to pay 20-30 € for every match, or even more.

hmm. IMO the management is right to reduce the capacity, cause always fewer people come to the stadium why nobody knows!!

I think the right Capacity would be 50.000 and with the possiblity to make it bigger if the people come regularly!!

but 40.000 is better than 35.000!!!

we will see!

There is milions of juve fans in the world that do not travel to Turin they deserve to watch juve playing in a cheerful atmosphere, too.

At the end, it is not our choice or whar we care about . Its juve doing well

Thats a dream comes true the new stadium:D
I can remember the days with Vialli and Ravanelli those days most matches were fully packed.. i can remember the spirit and noise which made me even more a Juve fan.. the new stadium with the Juventini almost on the pitch is a dream come true.. now we can actually see and hear even more:cheesy:

True. I really can't argue with that. But I have been watching the last few Juve home games. That last one with Maccabi, I was surprised that their were only 6,000 there. They were pretty frickin loud!! The ambience takes care of itself and TV usually doesn't show the entire stadium unless they run all the way to the edge after scoring. For the purpose of attendance averages, it should be atleast 50,000. There is no excuse for that.

Besides, 10,000 to 20,000 people extra would probably make a Big match (Inter, Milan, Roma) seem a lot bigger. Consider a 25 to 50% volume increase. It sends chills down the spine.

they deserve? do they pay something to juventus' home fans? if they do, then they really deserve to see juve playing in front of 60K spectators every home game.

We can expand, but it'd just be stupid to decrease our capacity and then have to spend more money to go back to square one :irritate:
